OF SECTION 13522 OF THE PENAL CODE RELATING
TO TPJ~INING OF LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana trains its police officers to
standards higher than those established by the State of California; and
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana is thereby eligible to participate
in the State's reimbursement program, provided only that an appropriate
ordinance is passed expressing the intent of the City of Santa Ana to
meet the standards established by virtue of §13522 of the Penal Code; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City of Santa Ana to participate
in the established reimbursement program;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That for the purpose of qualifying the City of Santa
Ana to receive its proper share of allocations from the State of Cali-
fornia pursuant to the Peace Officer Standards and Training program,
inasmuch as the City of Santa Ana is qualified to participate in these
funds which originate partially in the City except for the formality
of adopting an ordinance, the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby amended
by adding Part 5 to Chapter 4 of Article II thereof to read in words
and figures as follows:
Part 5 - Peace Officer Standards and Training
SECTION 2460. Desire to Participate
The City of Santa Ana declares that it desires to
qualify to receive aid from the State of California
under the provisions of Chapter 1 of Title 4, Part 4
of the California Penal Code.
SECTION 2461. Adherence to Standards
Pursuant to Section 13522 of said Chapter 1, the
City of Santa Ana, while receiving aid from the State
of California pursuant to said Chapter 1, will adhere
to the standards for recruitment and training established
by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards
and Training.
SECTION 2: That this Ordinance shall take effect thirty days
from and after the date of its adoption.

at its regular meeting held on the

Council of the City of Santa Ana; that the foregoing Ordinance was
introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council of said City held
on the 1st day of July, 1968, and was again considered by said Council
at its regular meeting held on the 15th day of July, 1968, and at said
meeting was passed and adopted by the following vote, to wit:
