ON AMENDMENT APPLICATION NO. 578 INITIATED BY THE
PLANNING COMMISSION AND AMENDING SECTIONAL DISTRICT
MAP 12-5-10 (EXHIBIT AA 578 A)
WHEREAS, the Planning Ccnunission has given notice of and duly
held a public hearing on Amendment Application No. 578, initiated by
said Commission for a change in District classifications from the
R-l, R-2, R-3, R-3H, C-l, C-2, and C-3 Districts to the CD District,
and has recommended approval of said reclassification to provide for
compatible and orderly development to complement the Civic Center; and
WHEREAS, the City Council regularly held a public hearing on
notice and does now find that the public necessity, convenience, and
general welfare require the following amendment and that the use under
the new classification will not be detrimental to the surrounding area;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That the real property in the City of Santa Ana,
County of Orange, State of California, described as:
PARCEL 1:
Beginning at a point on the center line of Birch Street located
155 feet, more or less, southerly from the center line of Sixth
Street; thence southerly along the center line of Birch Street
for a distance of 155 feet, more or less, to the center line of
Fifth Street; thence Westerly along the center line of Fifth
Street for a distance of 180 feet, more or less; thence southerly
along a line approximately parallel to the center line of Birch
Street for a distance of 155 feet, more or less; thence westerly
along a line approximately parallel to the center line of Fifth
Street for a distance of 150 feet, more or less; thence southerly
along a line approximately parallel to the center line of Birch
Street for a distance of 165 feet, more or less; thence westerly
along the center line of Fourth Street for a distance of
feet, more or less, to the center line of Ross Street; thence

being located 67 feet, more or less, northerly frc~ that point
where said center line intersects the center line of Eighth Street;
thence westerly along a line approximately parallel to the center
line of Eighth Street for a distance of 147.1 feet, more or less;
thence northerly along a line approximately parallel to the center
line of Broadway for a distance of 200 feet, more or less; thence
easterly along a line approximately parallel to the center line of
Eighth Street for a distance of 147.1 feet, more or less, to the
center line of Broadway; thence northerly along the center line of
Broadway for a distance of 26 feet, more or less; thence easterly
along a line approximately parallel to the center line of Tenth
Street for a distance of 164.3 feet, more or less; thence southerly
along a line approximately parallel to the center line of Broadway
for a distance of 293.2 feet, more or less; thence easterly along

is hereby reclassified from the R-l, R-2, R-3, R-3H, C-l, C-2, and
C-3 Districts to the CD District, and Sectional District Map 12-5-10
is hereby amended to show said reclassification in accordance with
Exhibit AA 578 A.
SECTION 2: That this Ordinance shall take effect thirty days
from and after the date of its adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 18th day of April, 1966.
