SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL CODE TO INCLUDE NOVEMBER
AS AN OFFICIAL HOLIDAY FOR CITY EMPLOYEES
WHEREAS, in recognition of the service rendered by citizens
of this nation in past wars, November llth has been designated as
Veterans' Day; and
WHEREAS, in observance of this day, it is the intent of this
City Council that November llth be declared as an official holiday
for the employees of the City of Santa Ana and that Section 2267
of the Santa Ana Municipal Code be amended to include said holiday.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That Part 1 of Chapter 2, Article II of the
Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby amended by amending Section
2267 thereof to read in words and figures as follows:
SECTION 2267. Holidays.
Legal holidays observed by City employees shall be
January 1, February 22, May 30, July 4, the first Monday
in September, November 11, December 25, Good Friday from
12 noon to 3 P.M., Thanksgiving Day and every day pro-
claimed by the Mayor as a holiday for City employees.
Any holiday which falls on Sunday will be observed on
the following Monday. Any holiday which falls on a Satur-
day shall be observed in accordance with a schedule to be
determined by the department head in order to allow public
offices to remain open on the Friday preceding the holiday.
SECTION 2: That this Ordinance shall take effect thirty
days from and after the date of its adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Aha at its regular meeting held on the 20th day of March, 1967.

going Ordinance was regularly introduced to said Council at its
regular meeting held on the 6th day of March, 1967, and was again
considered by said Council at its regular meeting held on the 20th
day of March, 1967, and at said meeting was regularly passed and
adopted by the following vote, to wit:
