DISTRICT CLASSIFICATION ON AMENDMENT APPLICATION
629 INITIATED BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION AND
AMENDING SECTIONAL DISTRICT MAP IRS-9 (EXHIBIT AA 629B)
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has given notice of and duly
held a public hearing on Amendment Application No. 629, initiated by
the Planning Commission proposing to prezone and establish District
classification from the County of Orange ~L District to the City of
Santa Ana LM District, and said Commission has recommended, by its
Resolution No. 5854, that said prezoning and classification be
approved as shown on Exhibit AA 629 B; and
WHEREAS, the City Council regularly held a public hearing on
notice and does now find that public necessity, convenience, and
general welfare require the following amendment and that the use
under the new classification will not be detrimental to the
surrounding property;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION l: That the real property in the County of Orange,
State of California, described as:
Beginning at a point lying northwesterly of that point where
Alton Avenue intersects Red Hill Avenue, said point being the
existing boundary line of the City of Santa Ana; thence north-
westerly along the Santa Ana City boundary line for a distance
of 1290 feet, more or less, to the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING;
thence continuing northwesterly for a distance of 1264 feet,
more or less, to the easterly boundary line of the Newport
Freeway right of way; thence northeasterly along the easterly
boundary line of the Newport Freeway for a distance of 1374.4
feet, more or less, to the Santa Ana City boundary line as it
exists at Deere Avenue; thence southeasterly along the City
boundary line for a distance of 963 feet, more or less; thence
southwesterly, continuing along the City boundary line, for a
distance of 1320 feet, more or less, to the southerly right of
way line of Alton Avenue and the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING,
is hereby reclassified and Prezoned from the County of Orange Mi
District to the City of Santa Ana LM District, and Sectional District
Map IRS-9 is hereby amended to show said prezoning and classification
in accordance with Exhibit AA 629 B.
SECTION 2: That this prezoning and classification shall be-
come effective whensoever in the future the hereinabove described
property is annexed to the City of Santa Ana, or thirty days from and
after the date of the adoption of this Ordinance, whichever shall be
the later date.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 3rd day of-Septembsr~. 1968.

sidered by said Council at its regular meeting held on the 3rd day
of September, 1968, and at said meeting was passed and adopted by th
following vote, to wit:
