HomeMy WebLinkAboutNS-937ORDINANCE NS-937 AMENDING SECTION 3280 OF PART 8, CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE III OF THE SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL CODE TO REVISE THE SPEED LIMITS FOR CERTAIN STREETS WITHIN THE CITY WI~EREAS, on recommendation of the Director of Public Works, the City Council has approved the revision of the speed limits on certain streets within the City; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY C©UNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: That Section 3280 of Part 8, Chapter 2, Article III of the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 3280. Prima Facie Speed Limits Established. The Department of Public Works, on the basis of an engineering and traffic survey, has determined that in some instances speeds greater than those established by Section 22352 of the Vehicle Code would be reasonable and safe upon certain streets in the City of Santa Ana and would facilitate the orderly movement of vehicular traffic, and in other instances that the prima facie speed limit should be reduced. Pursuant to the provisions of Sections 22357 and 22358 of the Vehicle Code prima facie speed limits are established for the following streets or parts of streets within the City and the Director of Public Works shall cause signs to be erected giving notice thereof.
