THE BOUNDARY LINES OF THE WARDS OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA
WHEREAS, heretofore, on November 18th, 1968, the City Council,
by its Resolution 68-174, declared its intention to change the
boundary lines of the Wards in the City of Santa Ana, which said
Resolution was regularly published as required by Section 101.4 of
the Charter of the City of Santa Ana and gave notice of public
hearing to be held on December 2nd, 1968;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That the boundaries of the Wards of the City of
Santa Ana are hereby changed and established as hereinafter set out:
WARD NO. 1:
The boundary of WARD NO. 1 begins at that point where Flower
Street intersects the North City Limit; thence generally
easterly along the northerly city limit to the easterly city
limit; thence southerly along the easterly city limit to
First Street; thence southerly and easterly along said city
limit to the next angle point in said City limit~ thence
westerly along said City limit to a line that is parallel with
and 500 feet westerly of Tustin Avenue as it exists north of
First Street; thence northerly at right angles to the last
mentioned City line to First Street; thence westerly along
First Street to Minnie Street; thence northerly at right
angles to First Street to Fourth Street; thence northwesterly
along the Southern Pacific Railroad right of way, which lies
between Santiago Street and Poinsettia Street, to Stafford
Street; thence southwesterly along Stafford Street to French
Street; thence northerly along French Street to Washington
Avenue; thence westerly along Washington Avenue to Main
Street; thence northerly along Main Street to Santa Clara Avenue
thence westerly along Santa Clara Avenue to North Park
Boulevard; thence northwesterly along North Park Boulevard
to Flower Street; thence northerly along Flower Street to
Santiago Creek; thence easterly along Santiago Creek to the
easterly line of the Southern Pacific Railroad right of way
adjacent to the Santa Ana Freeway; thence northwesterly along
said railroad to Flower Street; thence northerly along Flower
Street to the North City Limit and the point of beginning.
WARD NO. 2:
The boundary of WARD NO. 2 begins at the intersection of Main
Street and Edinger Avenue and runs westerly along Edinger
Avenue to Towner Street south of Edinger Avenue; thence
southerly along Towner Street to Berkeley Street; thence
easterly on Berkeley Street to Flower Street; thence southerly
on Flower Street to St. Andrew Place; thence westerly on
St. Andrew Place to Bristol Street; thence northerly on Bristol
Street to Edinger Avenue; thence westerly on Edinger Avenue to
Raitt Street; thence northerly on Raitt Street to McFadden
Avenue; thence westerly on McFadden Avenue to the easterly
right of way line of the Santa Ana River Channel; thence
northerly along the easterly right of way line of the Santa
Ana River Channel to a point 100 feet north of the westerly
extension of the north boundary of Camille Street; thence
easterly along a line 100 feet north of the northerly boundary
of Camille Street and its easterly extension to Sullivan Street;

thence southerly along Sullivan Street to Willits Street;
thence easterly along Willits Street to a point 100 feet
West of Shelly Street; thence northerly along a line 100 feet
west of Shelly Street to Myrtle Street; thence easterly along
Myrtle Street to Bristol Street; thence southerly along Bristol
Street to Richland Street; thence easterly along Richland
Street to Flower Street; thence northerly along Flower Street
to Richland Street as it exists east of Flower Street; thence
easterly along Richland Street to Birch Street; thence
southerly along Birch Street to Highland Street; thence
easterly along Highland Street to Main Street; thence southerly
along Main Street to the point of beginning.
WARD NO. 3:
The boundary of WARD NO. 3 begins at the intersection of
Washington Avenue with Main Street and runs thence westerly
along Washington Avenue to Broadway; thence northerly along
Broadway to Washington Avenue as it exists west of Broadway;
thence westerly along Washington Avenue to Bristol Street;
thence northerly along Bristol Street to Seventeenth Street;
thence westerly along Seventeenth Street to Fairview Street;
thence northerly along Fairview Street to an angle point in
the City Limit line north of Huckleberry Road; thence generally
northerly and easterly along the City Limit line to its inter-
section with Flower Street; thence southerly along Flower
Street to the Southern Pacific Railroad adjacent to ,the Santa
Ana Freeway; thence southeasterly along said Southern Pacific
Railroad right of way to Santiago Creek; thence westerly along
Santiago Creek to Flower Street; thence southerly along Flower
Street to North Park Boulevard; thence southeasterly along
North Park Boulevard to Santa Clara Avenue; thence easterly
along Santa Clara Avenue to Main Street;thence southerly on
Main Street to the point of beginning.
WARD NO. 4:
The boundary of WARD NO. 4 begins at the intersection of the
easterly right of way line of the Santa Ana River channel
with McFadden Avenue and runs thence easterly along McFadden
Avenue to Raitt Street; thence southerly along Raitt Street
to Edinger Avenue; thence easterly along Edinger Avenue to
Bristol Street; thence southerly along Bristol Street to
St. Andrew Place; thence easterly along St. Andrew Place to
Woodland Place; thence southerly on Woodland Place to
St. Gertrude Place; thence westerly on St. Gertrude Place to
Flower Street; thence southerly on Flower Street to Warner
Avenue; thence westerly along Warner Avenue to Towner Street;
thence south on Towner Street to Hemlock Way; thence west on
Hemlock Way to Shelton Street; thence southerly on Shelton
Street to San Lorenzo Avenue; thence southwesterly and
westerly along San Lorenzo Avenue to Bristol Street; thence
southerly on Bristol Street to the South City Limit; thence
generally westerly and northerly along the south and west
City Limits to the easterly line of the Santa Ana River right
of way; thence northerly along said Santa Ana River right of
way line to the point of beginning.
WARD NO. 5:
The boundary of WARD NO. 5 begins at the intersection of the
easterly right of way line of the Santa Ana River Channel
with First Street and runs thence easterly along First Street
to Raitt Street; thence northerly along Raitt Street to
Eighth Street; thence westerly along Eighth Street to English

Street; thence northerly along English Street to Seventeenth
Street; thence easterly along Seventeenth Street to Bristol
Street; thence southerly along Bristol Street to Washington
Avenue; thence easterly along Washington Avenue to Broadway;
thence southerly along Broadway to Washington Avenue as it
exists east of Broadway; thence easterly along Washington Avenue
to French Street; thence southerly along French Street to
Stafford Street; thence northeasterly along Stafford Street
to the Southern Pacific Railroad right of way. as it exists
between Santiago Street and Poinsettia Street; thence south-
easterly along the Southern Pacific Railroad right of way to
Fourth Street; thence due south to First Street; thence
westerly along First Street to Main Street; thence southerly
along Main Street to Highland Street; thence westerly along
Highland Street to Birch Street; thence northerly along Birch
Street to Richland Street; thence Westerly along Richland
Street to Flower Street; thence southerly along Flower Street
to Richland Street as it exists west of Flower Street; thence
westerly along Richland Street to Bristol Street; thence
northerly along Bristol Street to Myrtle Street; thence
westerly along Myrtle Street to a point 100 feet west of
Shelly Street; thence southerly along a line 100 feet west of
Shelly Street to Willits Street; thence westerly along Willits
Street to Sullivan Street; thence northerly along Sullivan
Street to a line 100 feet north of the extensions of Camille
Street; thence westerly along said line and its extensions to
the easterly right of way line of the Santa Ana River Channel;
thence northerly along the easterly right of way line of the
Santa Ana River Channel to the point of beginning.
WARD NO. 6:
The boundary of WARD NO. 6 begins at the intersection of
Sunflower Avenue with Bristol Street and runs thence northerly
along Bristol Street to San Lorenzo Avenue; thence easterly
and northeasterly along San Lorenzo Avenue to Shelton Street;
thence northerly along Shelton Street to Hemlock Way; thence
easterly along Hemlock Way to Towner Street; thence northerly
along Towner Street to Warner Avenue; thence easterly along
Warner Avenue to Flower Street; thence northerly along Flower
Street to St. Gertrude Place; thence easterly along St. Gertrude
Place to woodland Place; thence northerly along Woodland Place
to St. Andrew Place; thence westerly along St. Andrew Place
to Flower Street; thence northerly along Flower Street to
Berkeley Street; thence westerly along Berkeley Street to
Towner Street; thence northerly along Towner Street to Edinger
Avenue; thence easterly along Edinger Avenue to Main Street;
thence northerly along Main Street to First Street; thence
easterly along First Street to a point 500 feet west of Tustin
Avenue as it exists north of First Street; thence southerly
610 feet to the City Limit; thence generally southerly and
westerly along the easterly and southerly City Limits to the
point of beginning.
WARD NO. 7:
The boundary of WARD NO. 7 begins at the intersection of
Edinger Avenue with the easterly right of way line of the
Santa Ana River Channel; thence northerly along the easterly
right of way line of the Santa Ana River Channel to First
Street; thence easterly along First Street to Raitt Street;
thence northerly along Raitt Street to Eighth Street; thence
westerly along Eighth Street to English Street; thence

northerly along English Street to Seventeenth Street; thence
westerly along Seventeenth Street to Fairview Street; thence
northerly along Fairview Street to an angle point on the City
Limit line north of Huckleberry Road; thence generally westerly,
southerly, and easterly along the City Limit line to the point
of beginning.
SECTION 2: That this is an ordinance necessary to the General
Municipal Election to be held April 1, 1969; the sole purpose of
this Ordinance is to change the Ward lines and to establish Wards for
the holding of said Election; therefore, this Ordinance shall take
effect upon the date of its publication.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 16th day of December~.~19~
