HomeMy WebLinkAboutNS-0998ORDINANCE NS-998 AMENDING THE SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADDING DIVISION 23 TO CHAPTER 41 OF THE SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL CODE TO PROVIDE FOR THE ESTABLISPLNIENT OF THE 0 (PUBLICLY OWNED LAND) DISTRICT WHEREAS, on recommendation of the Planning Commission, the City Council has determined that the Land Use Regulations of the City of Santa Ana should be amended by adding new sections to Chapter 41 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code to provide for the establishment of the 0 (Publicly Owned Land) District; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: That the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby amended by adding Division 23 to Chapter 41 ~hereof to read in words and figures, as follows: DIVISION 23. 0 (PUBLICLY OWNED LAND) Sec. 41-582. Applicability of Division. 0 (publicly owned land) districts are specifically subject to the regulations contained in this division. Sec. 41-583. Purpose. The purpose of the 0 District is to provide for permanent open spaces in the City of land owned or controlled by a governmental or quasi-public agency. Sec. 41-584. Uses Permitted. No building, structure, or land shall be used, and no building or structure shall be designed, erected, structurally altered or enlarged, except for the following purposes: (a) Recreational uses; (b) Flood control structures; (c) Bridle trails; (d) Civic Center buildings, auditoriums, and similar public structures; (e) Public school buildings; (f) Public utility facilities; (g) Parking of motor vehicles in connection with any permitted use. Sec. The 41-585. Uses Prohibited. following uses are prohibited in the 0 District: Residential uses, except for a residence of a watchman or caretaker and his family; (b) Commercial uses other than those related to and under the regulation of the parks and/or other City, County, or Federal agencies; (c) Industrial Uses. Sec. 41-586. Building Height. There is no limitation on building height. Sec. 41-587. Yard Requirements. There are no yard requirements. SECTION 2: That this Ordinance shall take effect thirty days from and after the date of its adoption. -1- PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 2nd day of February, 1970.
