MUNICIPAL CODE BY REPEALING AND RE-ENACTING
SECTION 2-550 ET SEQ. RELATING TO THE BOARD
OF MUSEUM TRUSTEES
WHEREAS, there has been an increase in the workload and
activities of the CHARLES W. BOWERS MEMORIAL MUSEUM, and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to provide
for the best methods of coordinating and directing the activities
and power~f the Board of Museum trustees,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby
amended by repealing and re-adopting Sections 2-550, 2-551 and
2-552 thereof to read in words and figures, as follows:
Section 2-550. BOARD OF MUSEUM TRUSTEES -- Established;
Membership
There is created a board of museum trustees consisting of
seven (7) members to be known as the Board of Trustees of
the Bowers Museum. The members shall serve without compensation.
Section 2-551. Same. Terms of office.
Each of said trustees shall hold office for a term of four
(4) years or until their successors are appointed. Members
of the board shall continue in office as they had prior to
the amendment of the code, and two (2) new members shall be
appointed by the City Council with their terms to expire on
June 30, 1972 and June 30, 1973. Vacancies on said board
shall be filled by appointment.
Section 5-552 Same. Records and reports.
The Board of Trustees shall
t. Cause a proper record of their proceedings to be kept.
Make an annual report to the Council showing the general
condition of the museum property and the Museum's future
needs.
3. Make an annual report to the Council showing what the
Board has accomplished for the year.
SECTION 2: That this Ordinance shall take effect thirty
days from and after the date of its adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the city Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 3rd day of August, 1970.

at its regular meeting held on the 20th day of July, 1970,
and was again considered at its regular meeting held on the
3rd day of August, 1970, and was at said meeting regularly
