AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA APPROVING AMENDMENT APPLICATION 9707
FILED BY SANTA ANA PLANNING COMMISSION TO REZONE
PROPERTY GENERALLY DESCRIBED AS THAT AI{EA BOUNDED
ON THE NORTH BY ALTON AVENUE; ON THE EAST BY THE
NORTHERLY PROLONGATION OF BEAR STREET; ON THE
SOUTH BY THE MACARTHUR BOULEVARD WESTERLY PROLONGA-
TION; AND ON THE WEST BY GREENVILLE STREET FROM THE
A 1 and R 1 DISTRICTS TO THE R 1-PRD DISTRICT AND
AMENDING SECTIONAL DISTRICT MAps 26-5-10, 27-5-10 ~
34-5-10 and 35-5-10 (EXHIBIT A.A. 707-A)
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has given notice of and
duly held a public hearing on Amendment Application %707, filed
by the Santa Ana Planning Commission proposing to rezone the
property generally described as that area bounded on the north
by Alton Avenue; on the east by the northerly prolongation of
Bear Street; on the south by the MacArthur Boulevard westerly
prolongation; and on the west by Greenville Street from the
A1 and R 1 Districts to the R 1-PRD District and said Commission
by its Resolution %6006 has reconunended approval reclassifying
from the A 1 and R 1 Districts to the R 1-PRD District in
accordance with Exhibit A.A. 707-A and:
WHEREAS, the City Council regularly held a public hearing on
said reclassification on published notice as required by law, and
does now find that the public necessity, convenience, and general
welfare require that said property be rezoned from the A1 and R 1
Districts to the R 1-PRD District and that the new classification
will not be detrimental to the surrounding property;
NOW~ THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That the real property in the City of Santa Ana,
County of Orange, State of California, described as:
Beginning at the intersection of the centerlines of Alton
Avenue and Greenville Street, thence east along the centerline of
Alton Avenue for a distance of 3615.3 feet, more or less; thence
south along a line approximately parallel to Greenville Street
for a distance of 1330 feet more or less to the centerline of
MacArthur Boulevard; thence west along the centerline of MacArthur
Boulevard for a distance of 3615.3 feet, more or less to the center-
line of Greenville Street; thence north along the centerline of
Greenville Street for a distance of 1328 feet, more or less, to
the point of beginning.
is hereby reclassified from the A1 and Ri Districts to the R 1-PRD
District and Sectional District Maps 26-5-10, 27-5-10, 34-5-10 and
35-5-10 as revised, are hereby amended to show said reclassifica-
tion in accordance with Exhibit A.A. 707-A.
SECTION 2: That the Clerk of the Council shall certify to the
passage of this Ordinance and cause the same to be published in
some daily newspaper printed and published in the City of Santa Ana.
SECTION 3: That this Ordinance shall take effect thirty days
from and after the date of its adoption, except as herein specifi-
cally provided.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 5th day of
September , 1972.
