HomeMy WebLinkAboutNS-1140- ORDINANCE NS-1140 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING AMENDMENT APPLICATION %709 FILED BY SANTA ANA PLANNING COMMISSION TO REZONE PROPERTY DESCRIBED AS THAT AREA BOUNDED ON THE NORTH BY ALTON AVENUE; ON THE EAST BY GREENVILLE STREET; ON THE SOUTH BY THE MACARTHUR BLVD. WESTER- LY PROLONGATION; AND ON THE WEST BY FAIRVIEW ROAD FROM THE A 1 AND M 1 DISTRICTS TO THE R 2-PRD DISTRICT AND AMENDING SECTIONAL MAPS 27-5-10 AND 34-5-10 (EXHIBIT A.A. 709-A) WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has given notice of and duly held a public hearing on Amendment Application %709, filed by the Santa Ana Planning Commission proposing to rezone the property described as that area bounded on the north by Alton Avenue; on the east by Greenville Street; on the south by the MacArthuI Blvd. westerly prolongation; and on the west by Fairview Road from the A 1 and M 1 Districts to the R 2-PRD District and said Commission by its Resolution %6008 has recommended approval reclassifying from the A 1 and M 1 Districts to the R 2-PRD District in accor- dance with Exhibit A.A. 709-A, and: WHEREAS, the City Council regularly held a public hearing on said reclassification on published notice as required by law, and does now find that the public necessity, convenience, and general welfare require that said property be rezoned from the A 1 and M 1 Districts to the R 2~PRD District and that the new classification will not be detrimental to the surrounding property: NOW, THEREFORE~ THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: That the real property in the City of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of California, described as: Beginning at the intersection of the centerlines of Alton Avenue and Fairview Street, thence east along the centerline of Alton Avenue for a distance of 1115 feet; thence south along the centerline of Greenville Street for a distance of 1327.99 feet; thence west along the centerline of MacArthur Boulevard for a distance of 1118.69 feet; thence north along the centerline of Fairview Street for a distance of 1328.10 feet to the point of beginning. is hereby reclassified from the A 1 and M 1 Districts to the R-2PRD District and Sectional District Maps 27-5-10 and 34-5-10 as revised, are hereby amended to show said reclassification in accordance with Exhibit A.A. 709-A. SECTION 2: That the Clerk of the Council shall certify to the passage of this Ordinance and cause the same to be published in some daily newspaper printed and published in the City of Santa Ana. SECTION 3: That this Ordinance shall take effect thirty days from and after the date of its adoption, except as herein specifi- cally provided.
