ORDINANCE NO. NS-1369
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AMEND-
ING ORDINANCE NO. NS-1341 AND APPROVING
AMENDMENT APPLICATION NO. 753 INITIATED BY
THE PLANNING COMMISSION REZONING PROPERTY
FROM THE R3-HDII, Cl-HDII, C2-HDII, AND
P-HDII, AND 0 DISTRICTS TO THE SD (SPECIFIC
DEVELOPMENT) DISTRICT, AND AMENDING SECTIONAL
DISTRICT MAP 12-5-10
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. NS-1341, adopted by the
City Council on December 20, 1976, contained an incorrect
legal description, and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission initiated Amend-
ment Application No. 753 to rezone property generally located
between Ross, Van Ness, First, and Third Streets from the
R3-HDII, Cl-HDII, C2-HDII, P-HDII and O Districts to the
SD (Specific Development) District, and said Commission recom-
mended approval of said application after notice and hearing
thereon, and
WHEREAS, the City Council regularly held a public
hearing on said reclassification on published notice required
by law, and does now find that the public necessity, conven-
ience, and general welfare require that the said property
be reclassified from the R3-HDII, Cl-HDII, C2-HDII, P-HDII,
and 0 Districts to the SD (Specific Development) District,
and that such new classification will not be detrimental
to the surrounding property, and
WHEREAS, the City Council, prior to taking this
action, reviewed and considered the information in the En-
vironmental Impact Report designated as the Redevelopment
Agency's Environmental Impact Report, prepared and certified
by the Santa Ana Redevelopment Agency as the lead agency
for the project proposed for the subject property,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That Ordinance No. NS-1341, adopted
December 20, 1976, is hereby amended to read as follows:
That the real property commonly known as the Senior
Citizen's Housing Project, bounded by First, Ross, Third
and Van Ness Streets and more particularly described on at-
tached exhibit A, incorporated by reference herein, is here-
by reclassified from the R3-HDII, C1-HDII, C2-HDII, P-HDII,
and O Districts to the SD (Specific Development) District,
and that Sectional District Map 12-5-10 is hereby amended
to show said reclassification, in accordance with Exhibit
A.A. 753-A.
SECTION 2: If any section, subsection, sentence,
clause, phrase or portion of this ordinance is for any rea-
son held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision
of any court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall
not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this
ordinance. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby
declares that it would have adopted this ordinance and each
section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or portion

thereof irrespective of the fact that any one or more sections,
subsections, clauses or portions be declared invalid or uncon-
stitutional.

SENIOR CITIZENS HOUSING PROJECT
Ail that certain land situated in the City of Santa Ana,
County of Orange, State of California, described as follows:
Those portions of Blocks 6 and 7 of "Dawson and Cummings
Addition to the Town of Santa Ana" as shown on a Map recorded
in Book 13, page 47 of Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles
County, California, together with those portions of Ross
Street, Van Ness Avenue, First Street, Second Street, Third
Street and the alleys shown on said Map that would pass by
operation of law upon abandonment thereof, included within
the land described as follows:
Beginning at the Northeast corner of said
Block 6; thence Westerly along the Northerly
line of said Block 6 to the Northeast corner
of Block 5 of said Tract; thence Southerly
along the Easterly line of said Block 5 to
and along the Easterly line of Block 8 of
said Tract to the Southeast corner of said
Block 8; thence Easterly to the Southwest
corner of Block 7 of said Tract; thence
Easterly along the South line of said Block
7 to the Southeast corner of said Block 7;
thence Northerly along the Easterly line of
said Block 7 to and along the Easterly line
of said Block 6 to the point of beginning.
Excepting therefrom the South 40.00 feet
thereof.
EXHIBIT "A"
