NS- 1612 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AMENDING SECTION 2-300 OF THE SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL CODE, AND ADDING SECTION 2-300.5 THERETO, TO REVISE THE LIST OF OFFICERS OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AND CHANGE THE TITLES OF CERTAIN OFFICERS THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: That Section 2-300 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. 2-300. City officers and department heads. (a) The following are officers of the City of Santa Ana: (1) Members of the City Council (2) City Manager (3) City Attorney (4) Clerk of the Council (5) Assistant City Managers (6) The heads of the departments of the City, as specified in subsection (b) of this section. (b) The following are the heads of the departments of the City: (1) Police Chief (2) Fire Chief (3) Director of Finance (4) Director of Public Works (5) Director of Recreation, Parks, and Community Services (6) Director of Personnel (7) Library Director (8) Museum Director (9) Director of Planning and Development Services (10) Director of Community Development (11) Director of Transportation (12) Director of Housing SECTION 2: That the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby amended by adding a sectio~ to be numbered 2-300.5, which said section reads as follows: Sec. 2-300.5. Director of Planning and Development Services. The Director of Planning and Development Services shall assume the powers, duties, and responsibilities conferred by this Code, and by all resolutions, agreements, regulations, authorizations, and directives of the City Council, the City Manager, and any board or commission of the City of Santa Ana, and by established administrative practice, upon the previously existing offices of Director of Planning and Director of Building Safety. All references in the Code, or in any such resolution, agreement, ORDINANCE NO. NS- 1612 PAGE TWO regulation, authorization, or directive, or in any document whatsoever, to the Director of Building Safety or the Director of Planning, or to the Department of Building Safety or the Department of Planning, or to any variation on such titles, shall be deemed references to the Director of Planning and Development Services and the Department of Planning and Development Services. Nothing herein shall be construed to limit or prohibit any otherwise authorized delegation of powers, duties or responsibilities by the Director of Planning and Development Services to subordinant employees within the Department of Planning and Development Services, nor to affect the authority of the City Council or the City Manager to augment, reduce or alter such powers, duties and responsibilities. SECTION 3: That the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby amended by adding a section, to be numbered 2-300.6, which said section reads as follows: Sec. 2-300.6 Director of Recreation, Parks, and Community Services The Director of Recreation, Parks, and Community Services shall be subject to and have the qualifications, powers, and duties set forth in section 706 of the charter. All references in the charter and this code or in any resolution, agreement, regulation, authorization, or directive of the City Council, the City Manager, or any board or commission of the City of Santa Ana, or in any document whatsoever, to the Director of Recreation and Parks or the Department of Recreation and Parks shall be deemed references to the Director of Recreation, Parks, and Community Services and the Department of Recreation, Parks, and Community Services.
