AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
ADDING SECTION 8-2 TO CHAPTE~: 8 OF THE
SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL CODE REQUIRING
COMPLIANCE WITH LICENSING PROVISION OF
CHAPTER 21 OF THE SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL
CODE PRIOR TO FINAL INSPECTION FOR
WORK OR SERVICE ON A PROJECT FOR WHICH
FINAL INSPECTION IS REQUIRED
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: That the Santa Ana Municipal Code,
hereby amended by adding a section, to be numbered 8-2,
which said section reeds as fcllows:

Section 8-2. License tax paid prior to final
inspection.
No final inspection required by any of the provisions
of this chapter shall be issued,, or applied for, until the
director of finance or his designated representative shall
have certified that applicable license taxes have been paid
by all independent contractors who have performed any work
or service upon the project fc.r which such final inspection
is required.
The building official shall not make such final
inspection until the director of finance or his designated
representative certifies that there has been full compliance
with the requirements of Chapter 21 of this code and all
other applicable taxing laws. To obtain such certificate,
there shall be submitted to the director of finance or his
designated representative, an affidavit or declaration under
penalty of perjury, by the owner of the property or by the
contractor having control of the project, upon a form
provided by the city, which contains the complete name,
street address of the place of business and the telephone
number of each contractor and subcontractor who has performed
any work or labor, or has rendered any service upon the
project for which such final inspection is required.
SECTION 2: If any section, subsection, sentence,
clause, phrase or portion of this ordinance is for any
reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision
of any court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall
not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this
ordinance. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby
declares that it would have adopted this ordinance and each
section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or portion
thereof, irrespective of the fact that any one or more
sections, subsections, sentences, clauses, phrases or portions
be declared invalid or unconstitutional.
