ORDINANCE NO. NS- 1643
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
APPROVING AMENDMENT APPLICATION NO. 873
TO REZONE PROPERTY LOCATED ALONG BOTH
SIDES OF SECOND AND THIRD STREETS FROM
THE C2 (GENERAL COMMERCIAL) DISTRICT TO
THE R2 (MULTIPLE FAMILY RESIDENCE)
DISTRICT AND AMENDING SECTIONAL MAP
NO. 7-5-9
WHEREAS, the real property located along both
sides of Second and Third Streets and more particularly
described infra, is located within the C2 (General Commercial)
District, and
WHEREAS, Amendment Application No. 873 has been
filed to amend Sectional District Map No. 7-5-9 to rezone
such real property to the R2 (Multiple Family Residence)
District, and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has given notice
of and duly held a public hearing on said Amendment Application
and has recommended approval thereof, and
WHEREAS, the City Council regularly held a public
hearing on the said Amendment Application on published notice
required by law and does now find that the public necessity,
convenience, and general welfare require that the said property
be reclassified as requested in the said Amendment Application,
and that the new classification will not be detrimental to
the surrounding property, and
WHEREAS, prior to taking this action, the City
Council has reviewed and considered the information contained
in Negative Declaration (I.S. No. 82-24), and, on the basis
thereof, finds that the project will not have a significant
effect on the environment;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN that the real property situated in the
City of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of California,
generally located along both sides of Second and Third Streets,
and more particularly described in Exhibit A, attached hereto
and incorporated herein as though fully set forth, is hereby
reclassified from the C2 District (Community Commercial) to

the R2 (Multiple Family Residence) District, and that
sectional District Map No. 7-5-9 is hereby amended to show
said reclassification in accordance with Exhibit A.A. 873-A.

That certain real property in the City of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of
California, described as follows:
Beginning at the Southwest corner of Lot 1 in Block C of Hall's Addition to
Santa Ana, as shown on that certain map recorded in Book ll, page 62 of Miscell-
aneous Records of Los Angeles County, California, said Southwest corner being
also a point in the East line of Lacy Street; thence Easterly along the South
line of Lots 1 through 8, inclusive, of said Block C of Hall's Addition, to the
Southeast corner of said Lot 8, said Southeast corner being also a point in the
West line of Garfield Street; thence Northerly along last said West line to the
Northeast corner of said Lot 8, said Northeast corner being also the point of
intersection of said West line of Garfield Street with the South line of Second
Street; thence Westerly along last said South line to the Northwest corner of
said Lot l, said Northwest corner being also the point of intersection of said
South line of Second Street with said East line of Lacy Street; thence Southerly
along last said East line to the Point of Beginning.

That certain real property in the City of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State'of
California, described as follows:
Beginning at the Southeast corner of Lot 16 in Block B of Hall's Addition to
Santa Ana, as shown on that certain map recorded in Book ll, page 62 of Miscell-
aneous Records of Los Angeles County, California, said Southeast corner being
also the point of intersection of the North line of Second Street with the West
line of Garfield Street; thence Northerly along last said West line to the North-
east corner of said Lot 16; thence Westerly along the North line of Lots 16, 15,
14, 13 and 12 to a point of intersection with a line parallel with and distant
Easterly 0.67 feet, measured at right angles, from the West line of said Lot 12;
thence Southerly along said parallel line to a point of intersection with the
South line of said Lot 12, said point of intersection being also a point in the
North line of Second Street; thence Easterly along last said North line to the
Point of Beginning.

That certain real property in the City of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of
California, described as follows:

West line of said Lot 9 to the Northwest corner thereof; thence Easterly along the
North line of Lots g and l0 of said Jenning's Addition and along the North line
of Lots g through 16, inclusive, in Block A of the Noah Palnmr Tract, as shown
on that certain map recorded in Book 2, page ll of Miscellaneous Maps of Orange
County, to the Northeast corner of said Lot 16; thence Southerly along the East
line of said Lot 16 to the Southeast corner thereof, said Southeast corner being
also a point in the North line of Third Street; thence Westerly along last said
North line to the Point of Beginning.

of Orange County, said Northeast corner being also the point of intersection of
the South line of Third Street with the West line of Lacy Street; thence Southerly
along last said West line to the Southeast corner of said Lot l, said Southeast
corner being also the point of intersection of said West line of Lacy Street with
the North line of Second Street; thence Westerly along last said North line to a
point of intersection with a line parallel with and distant Westerly 6.0 feet,
neasured at right angles, from the East line of Lot 6 in Block 2 of the H.C.
Jennings Addition to Santa Ana, as shown on that certain map recorded in Book ll,
