ORDINANCE NO. NS-1685
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
TERMINATING VEHICLE PARKING DISTRICT
NO. 1 OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AND
REPEALING SECTION 2-618 OF THE SANTA
ANA MUNICIPAL CODE, DESIGNATING THE
COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA AS THE BOARD OF
PARKING PLACE COMMISSIONERS FOR SAID
DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana, by its Ordinance
No. NS-76, adopted January 3, 1955, pursuant to the Vehicle
Parking District Law of 1943 (Streets and Highways Code
Sections 31500 e__t seq.), created "Vehicle Parking District
No. 1," a special assessment district formed to finance the
acquisition and installation by the City of Santa Ana of a
parking lot, originally located on the south side of Sixth
Street between Bush and Spurgeon Streets, and subsequently
relocated to the south side of ~Fifth Street, between Bush
and Spurgeon Streets; and
WHEREAS, as required by the said Vehicle Parking
District Law of 1943, a Board of Parking Place Commissioners
was appointed by the City Council to administer the said
parking lot and provide for the repayment of all assessments
and loans used to finance the acquisition and installation
of the said parking lot from the revenues of the said lot;
and
WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. NS-1197, adopted March
11, 1974, adding Section 2-618 to the Santa Ana Municipal
Code, the Community Redevelopment Agency of the City of
Santa Ana was designated as the ex officio Board of Parking
Place Commissioners for Vehicle Parking ~-fstrict No. 1; and
WHEREAS, all assessments and loans used to finance
the acquisition and installation of said parking lot have
been fully repaid, so that the continued existence of
Vehicle Parking District No. 1 and its Board of Parking
Place Commissioners serves no useful purpose; and
WHEREAS, upon termination of Vehicle Parking
District No. 1 and its Board of Parking Place Commissioners,
the said parking lot will be subject to the control and
disposition of the City Council of the City of Santa Ana in

the same manner as other public property owned by the City
of Santa Ana, without further application of the Vehicle
Parking District Law of 1943;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That "Vehicle Parking District No. 1," as
formed by Ordinance NS-76 of the City of Santa Ana, and its
Board of Parking Place Commissioners, are hereby terminated
and abolished.
SECTION 2: That Section 2-618 of the Santa Ana Municipal
Code is hereby repealed.
