ORDINANCE NO. NS-2452
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA AMENDING SECTIONS 2-300 AND 2-
300.5 OF THE SANTA ANA MUNICIPAL CODE TO
ESTABLISH THE TITLE OF DEPUTY CITY MANAGER
FOR DEVELOPMENT SERVICES
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DOES HEREBY ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: The City Council hereby finds, determines and declares as follows:
At the regular meeting of October 2, 2000, this Council adopted City
Resolution No. 2000-067, creating the position of Deputy City Manager
for Development Services.
The Council is desirous of making appropriate changes to the Code to
recognize this title and to ensure that all references in the Code to the
Executive Director of Planning and Building Safety are understood to be
and by law shall be deemed references to the Deputy City Manager for
Development Services.
Section 2: Section 2-300 of the Code is hereby amended to delete the existing
reference in section (a)(13) to the executive director of planning and building safety,
renumber appropriately, and add reference to the deputy city manager for development
services, so that it shall read as follows (new text in bold):
Sec. 2-300. Cityofficersand departmentheads.
(a) The following are officers of the City of Santa Ana:
(1) Members of the city council;
(2) City manager;
(3) City attorney;
(4) Clerk of the council;
(5) Deputy city managers, which may include a deputy city
manager for development services;
(6) Police chief;
(7) Fire chief;
(8) Executive director of finance and management services;
(9) Executive director of public works;
(10) Executive director of recreation and community services;
(11) Executive director of human resources;
(12) Library director;

(13) Executive director of community development;
(14) Executive director of utilities.
Section 3: Section 2-300.5 of the Code is hereby amended to read as follows (new
text in bold):
Sec. 2-300.5. Deputy City Manager for Development Services.
All references in this Code, or in any resolution, agreement, regulation,
authorization or directive of the city council, the city manager or any board
or commission of the City of Santa Ana, or in any document whatsoever,
to the planning director, the building director, the director of building
safety, the director of planning and development services or the
executive director of planning and building safety shall be deemed
references to the deputy city manager for development services.
