HomeMy WebLinkAbout52-014RESOLUTION NO. 52-1~ RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTISK} THE CITY CLERK TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOP~ 1700 LINEAL FEET OF CHAIN LINK FENCING, GATES, ETCo, AROUND MEMORIAL PARK BALL FIELD. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA: That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to advertise as required by law for the receipt of sealed bids or proposals for the doing of the work specified in those certain Specifications, which said advertisement shall be substantially in the following words and figures, to wit: NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROP0~,ALS In pursuance of a resolution of the Board of Trustees of the City of Santa Ana, Orange County, California, adopted directing this notice, NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the said Board of Trustees will receive at the office of the City Clerk in the City Hall of the City of Santa Aha, on or before the hour of 7:30 o'clock p.m., on the 3rd day of March, 1952, sealed bids or proposals for 1700 lineal feet of chain link fencing, gates, etc., around Memorial Park Ball ~'ield in the City of Santa Aha, California. Bids must be addressed to the Board of Trustees, Santa Ana, California, marked "Bid for 1700 lineal feet of chain link fencing, gates, etc., around Memorial Park Ball Field". The bidder must submit with his proposal a satisfactory check certified by a responsible bank and payable to the order of the City of Santa Aha, or a bidder's bond, for an amount not less than ten (lC) per cent of the aggregate sum of the bid, as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into the proposed contract if the same is awarded to him, and in event of failure to enter into such contract said check or bond shall become the property of the City. The amount of the bond to be given to secure a faithful performance of the contract for said work shall be lifts (50) per cent of the contract price thereof, and an additional bond in an amount equal to fifty (50) per cent of the contract price for said work shall be given to secure the payment of claims for any materials or supplies furnished for the performance of the work contracted to be done by the Contractor, or any work or labor of any kind done thereon, and the Contractor will also be required to furnish a certificate that he carries compensation insurance covering his employees upon work to be done under contract which may be entered into between him and the said City for the construction of said work. The work is to be done in accordance with t he specifications of the City of Santa Ana on file in the office of the Park Superintendent, Room 305, of the City Hall, Santa Ana, California. The Board of Trustees of the City of Santa Aha reserves the right to reject any and all bids. By order of the Board of Trustees of the City of Santa Ana, California. McBride (SEAL) v City~ C~le r~ Deputy~ SPECIFICATIONS FOR CHAIN LINK FENCE TO GO AROUND BALLFIELD IN SANTA ANA CITY MEMORIAL PARK SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA Approximately 1700 lineal feet of fencing 8 three foot gates i twelve foot double-drive gate I four foot gate HEIGHT: Fence to stand 5 f~. above grade when erected. FABRIC: Chain link, heavily zinc coated (galvanized) by hot dip process after weaving 60" high No. 9 guage wire woven in a 2" mesh. The top selvage to have a nuckled selvage and the bottom selvage to have a barbed selvage. ~INE PARTS: Hot dip-galvanized "H" Column, Weight 2.80 lbs. per lineal foot. No used, re-rolled or open seam material will be permitted. ~ERMINAL POSTS: End, corner, gate and pull posts - hot dipped galvanized pipe 2 1/2" O. D. - 3.65 lbs. per lineal foot. ~OST SPACING: Posts to be placed in line of fence not farther apart than l0 ft. centers. POST SETTING: Line post to be set 18" and terminal posts 24" in concrete footing of proper size and shape so as to furnish a foundation and support sufficient to withstand any strain or shock ordinarily brought to bear on a fence of this chs~acter. Concrete to be a 1:2:~ mixture. ~OPS of all posts to be fitted with heavy ornamental tops. Base of top to carry apron around outside of post. ~OP RAIL: Hot dip galvaniz,~ pipe - I 5/8",weight 2.27 lbs. per lineal foot, provided with coupling approximately every 20 ft. FITTINGS: Hot dip galvanized. All fittings to be malleable, cast iron or pressed steel. FABRIC BANDS: Fabric to be fastened to line posts with fabric bands spaced approximately 14" apart and to top rail with tie wire spaced approximately 24" apart. SATES: Gate frames to be made of i 3/8" 0. D. hot dip galvanized pipe complete with malleable iron pin type hinge, catch and center rest. Same fabric as in fence. OPTIONS A and B COVERING INSTALLATION OF FENCE Purchaser to employ services of erection~ Superintendent to supervise the erection of fence. Full equipment of tools for erection to be furnished with superintendent. Bidder agrees to erect fence complete as per this contract, setting all posts in concrete, and furnishing all labor and materials. All grade stakes to be established by the City. Fence to follow ground level and obstruction of every nature which in any manner interferes with the erection of fence to be removed by the City prior to commencing work on fence.
