Notice is hereby given bidders that in accordance with
the provi~ione of Section 1770 of the Labor Cod~, the Board of
TTustees of the City of Santa Anm has ascertained the prevailing
rate of per diem wages for each craft or type of worknmn oP mechanic
needed to execute the contract whi~ ~ill be awamded the successful
bidder~ to be as follows~

Overtime - Not less than one and one-half (1 1/2) times.

The foregoing prevatlfnM wa~e schedules are based uoon a
working day of eight (8) hours, end in the event that laborers,
workmen or mechanics are employed less than eight (8) hours per
day, the rate of per diem wa~es shall be deemed to be that frac-
tion of the foregoin~ rates that the number of hours of employ-
ment bears to eight
In accordance with the provisions of Section 1777.5 of the
Labor Code as amended by Chapter 971, Statutes of 1939, and in
accordance with the regulations o? the California Apprenticeship
Council, properly indentured apprentices may be employed in the
prosecution of the work.
The bidder must submit with his proposal a satisfactory
'check certified by a responsible bank and payable to the order
of the City of Santa Aha, or e bidder's bond, for an amount not
less than ten (10) per cent o£ the ag.~regate sum of the bid, as
a guarantee that the,bidder will enter into the proposed contract
if the same is awarded.to him, and in event o~ failure to enter
into such contract said check or bond shall become the property
of the City.
The amount of the bond to be given to secure a fsithful
performance of the contract for said ~ork shall be fifty (50)
per cent of the contract price thereof, and sn additional bond
in an amount equal to fifty (50) per cent of the contract price
for said work shall be given to secure the payment of claims for
any materials or supplies furnished For the performance of the
work contracted to be done by the Contractor, or any work or
labor of any kind done thereon~ ~nd the contractor will also be
recuired to furnish a certificate that he carries compensation
insurance covering his employees upon work to be done under
contract which may bs entered into between him and the said
City for the construction of said work°
No bid will be accepted from a Contractor who is not
licensed in'~accordance with the provisions of the Contractor's
License Act, or to whom a proposal form has not been issued by
the City.Engineer.
The work is to be ~one in accordance with the profiles,
plans and specifications of the City of Santa Aha on file in
the office of the City Engineer, Room 201~ of the City Hall
of Santa Aha, California° Copies of the plans and specifiCa-
tions will be furnished upon application to the City Engineer
for which a charge of none dollars will be required°
