RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE C0~OE~,E~ATION OF CERTAIN
PARCELS OF REAL PROPERTY FOR PUBLIC STREET PURPOSES
A~$ DECLARL~G THE PUBLIC NECESSITY THEREFOR
~gHEREAS, South Main Street as it now exists in the City of
Santa Aaa, California is inadequate in width to accommodate the pres-
ent and future demands of traffic thereon and because thereof, is a
present and continuing traffic hazard;
NOW, Tt~REFORE, HE IT RESOLVED: That the Council of the City of
Santa Ana does hereby find and determine that the public interest and
necessity require that South Main Street between Mcfadden Street and
Anahurst Place be widened and improved as shown on a map thereof on
file in the office of the City Engineer and herein referred to for
greater detail, to accommodate the present and future demands of traf-
fic thereon and further require that said City do have, take and ac-
quire an easement for said purpose in and to those parcels of land ly-
ing in the City of Santa ~na, County of Orange, State of California
and described as:
PARCEL 1: The Westerly 5 feet of Lot One in Block "A"
of "Tract No. 245, Mcfadden Home Place No. l", as shown on
a Map recorded in Book 13, page 22 of Miscellaneous Maps,
records of Orange County, California;
PARCEL.2: The Westerly 5 feet of Lot Three in Block "A"
of "Tract No. 245~ Mcfadden Home Place No. 1,"'as shown on
a Map recorded in Book 13, page 22 of Miscellaneous ~aps,
records of Orange County, California;
PARCEL 3: The Westerly 5 feet of the following: Lots
Twenty-one and Twenty-three in Block "A" of "Tract NO. 245,
Mcfadden Home Place No. l~" as shown on a Nap recorded in

BE IT F~RT~ R~oOLVED. That the City Attorney be and he is hereby
ordered and directed to bring an action in the name of the City of Santa
Ann in the Superior Court of the State of California in and for the
County of Orange, for condemnation of said property necessary to be taken
as herein ordered and heretofore described and do all things necessary
to prosecute said action to final determination.
BE IT FURTP~R RESOLVED: That the public interest, necessity and
convenience require and it is hereby ordered, that the City of Santa
a ~.~unicipal Corporation of the Fifth Class, Plaintiff in the condemna-
tion action ordered herein, take i~aediate possession and use of the
property herein ordered to be acquired, upon complying with the require-
meats of the law applicable thereto and that the City Attorney report to

the City Council, the ~mount of money required therefor as soon as the
same has been ascertained.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the said action for condemnation of
said property so to be acquired shall be taken in accordance with Sec-
tion 14, Article I of the Constitution of tne State of California.
