The foregoing prevailing wage schedules a~e based upon a
working d~y or eight (8) hours, arid in the event that laborers,
workmen, or mechanics a~e employed less than eight (8). hours
per day, the ~ate of per diem wages shall be deemed to be that
fraction of the foregoing rates that th~ number of hours of
employment bears to eight (8)°
In accordance with the provisions of Section 1777.5 of
the Labor Code as amended by Chapter 9Vl~ Statutes of 1939,
and in accordance with the regulations of the California
Apprenticeship Co~cil, properly indenture~ apprentices may
be employed in the prosecution of ~he work~
The bidder must submit with his proposal a satisfactory
chec~ certified by a responsible bank and payable to the order
of the City of Santa Aha, or a bidder's bond, for ~ amount
not less than ten (10) per cent of the aggregate sum~ of the
bid, 'as a guarantee that the bidder will ~nte~ into the pro~
posed ~oDtract if the s~ne is awarded ~o him~ and 'in event~ of
~ailu~e to enter into such contract said check or bond shall
become the property of t~e City~
The amount of the bond to be given to secure a faithful
performance of the contract for said work shall be fifty-(~O)
per.cent of the contract price thereof~ ~nd an additional bond
in an amount equal to fifty (80) per cent of the contract price
~or said work shall be giv~n~to secure the pa~ent ~f claims
for any materials or supplies ~drnished for the performance
of the work contracted to be done by the Contractor, or any
work or labor of any kind do~o tHe~eon~ e~d the Contractor will
also be 'required to furnish a certificate that ~ carries com~
pensation insurance cove~ing his employees upon work to be
done under contract which may be entered into between him and
the said City for the construction of said work~
No bid will be accepted from a Contractor who is net
licensed in accordance with the provisions of the Contractor's
License Act, or to whom a proposal form h~s not been issued
by ~the City Engineer.
The ~ork is to be do~e in accordance with the I ' --' --

of the City Engineer~ Room 201, of t~e City Hall of Santa Aha,
california. Copies of the ~l~m~kspecifications will be furnished
upon application to the City
