RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA, DECLAR-
ING ITS INTENTION TO ORDER CERTAIN GRAD-
ING AND THE CONSTRUCTION OF CERTAIN
STREET WORK IN THE CITY OF SANTA ANA,
CALIFORNIA; DECLARING THE WORK TO BE OF
MORE THAN LOCAL OR ORDINARY PUBLIC BENE-
FIT; DESCRIBING THE DISTRICT TO BE BENE-
FITED BY SAID WORK AND TO BE ASSESSED TO
PAY THE COST AND EXPENSE THEREOF;
DW~TERMINING THAT BONDS SHALL BE ISSUED
TO REPRESENT ASSESSMENTS TO BE LEVIED;
AND FIXING THE TIME AND PLACE FOR HEAR-
ING PROTESTS AND OBJECTIONS TO SAID WORK
OR THE EXTENT OF THE DISTRICT TO BE
ASSESSED, OR BOTH, AND GIVING NOTICE
THEREOF.
The City Council of the City of Santa Ana, Cali-
fornia, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER as follows:
Section 1. That the public interest and conven-
ience require and that it is the intention of the City Council
of said City of Santa Ana to order the following work to be
done or improvement to be made in the City of Santa Ana,
to wit:
Certain grading and the construction of certain
curbs, sidewalks, driveway entrances and paving and appur-
tenances and appurtenant work in:
ST. ANDREW PLACE,
ST. GERTRUDE PLACE,
ANAHURST PLACE, and
DELHI ROAD,
between Main Street and Rousselle Street; in
CYPRESS AVENUE ~
ORANGE AVENUE, and
MAPLE STREET
between Delhi Road and the northerly line
Miscellaneous Maps, Book 14, Pages i & 2,
County; in
MAPLE STREET
between the easterly and westerly lines of Lot l, Block J,
said Tract No. 284; and
Certain grading and the construction of certain
paving in
between Delhi Road and Anahurst

Section 2. That all the aforesaid work or improve-
ment shall be constructed at the grades, along the lines,
between the points, of the dimensions, at the places and in
the manner shown on the plans (which include detailed draw-
ings) for the said work, designated "Revised Plan No. 195,"
consisting of thirteen sheets, numbered i to lB, both inclusive,
and in accordance with said plans and with the specifications
for said work, which,are designated "Revised Specifications
No. 195." Said plans and specifications have heretofore been
approved by the City Council of the City of Santa Aha and are
on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Santa
Aha in the City Hall in said City of Santa Ana, and reference
is hereby made to said plans and specifications for the full
and detailed description of said proposed work and for a
description of the grades at which said work is to be done.
Section 3. That in the opinion of this City Council
the said contemplated work is of more than local or ordinary
public benefit and this City Council hereby makes the expense
of said work chargeable upon a district, which district this
City Council hereby declares to be the district benefited by
the said work and to be assessed to pay the cost and expense
thereof. For a description of said district reference is
hereby made to a plat or map of said district heretofore
approved by this City Council on file in the office of the
said City Clerk and designated "Map of Assessment District
No. 195J" which map or plat indicates by a boundary line the
extent of the territory included in the said proposed dis-
trict and shall govern for all details as to the extent of
said assessment district.
Section 4. That serial bonds bearing interest at
the rate of six per cent (6%) per annum shall be issued to
represent each assessment of twenty-five dollars ($25) or
over remaining unpaid for thirty (30) days after the date of
recordation of the warrant. Said serial bonds shall extend
over a period ending nine (9) years from the second day of
January next succeeding the next October 15th following
their date. Said bonds are to be issued pursuant to and as
provided in the Improvement Act of 1911, Division ? of the
Streets and Highways Code of the State of California. Pur-
suant to Section 6464 of said code, this City Council hereby
determines and elects that said bonds shall provide for
a premium of five per cent (5%) of the unpaid principal~ pay-
able as provided in said Section 6464.
Section 5. ,That t~e said, proposed work is to be
done under and proceedings therefor are to be under and pur-
suant to the said Improvement Act of 1911.
~ Section 6. That the repox~c required by the Special
Assessment Investigation, Limitation and Majority Protest Act
of 19B1, Division 4 of the Streets and Highways Code, is on
file in said office of said City Clerk and may be examined
at said office.
Section 7. That notice is hereby given that the
4th day of May, 1953, at the ~our of 7:30 o'clock P.M., is
t~e day and hour when, and the Council Chambers of this City
Council in the City Mall in said City of Santa Ana is the
ptace~where~any and all peraans having any protest or objec-
tion to said proposed work or to the extent of said assess-
ment district, or to the proposed grades, may appear before
the City Council of said City of Santa Ana and show cause
why said proposed work should not be carried out in accord-
ance with this resolution of i~tentlom. Protest. or objec-
tions must be in writing and must be delivered to ~he said
City Clerk of said City of Santa Ana not later than the hour
herein set for hearing protests or objections.
Seetion 8. THE SANTA ANA REGISTER, a newspaper of
general circulation, Dublished and circulated in the said City
of Santa Aha, is hereby selected as the newspaper in which
this resolution shall be published and, except when otherwise
ordered by this City Council, in which all other publications
in the proceedings pursuant to this resolution of intention
shall be made. The said City Clerk is hereby directed to
certify to the adoption of this resolution and to cause said
resolution to be published in the manner provided by law.
Section 9. The said City Clerk is hereby directed
to mail notices of the adoption of this resolution as provided
in said Improvement Act of 1911, postage prepaid, to all per-
sons owning real property which is proposed to be assessed
to pay any part of the cost of said work, whose names and
addresses appear on the last equalized assessment roll or as
known to the said City Clerk.
Section 10. The Street Superintendent of the said
City of Santa Ana is hereby directed to cause to be con-
spicuously posted along the line of the contemplated work
and on all open streets within the said assessment district
notices of the passage of this resolution of intention in
the time, form and manner provided by law.
