AND CLOSING OF CERTAIN PORTIONS OF ORANGE AVENUE ~ND RESER-
VING AN EASEMENT THEREIN
WHEREAS, heretofore the City Council of the City of Santa Aha,
on the 16th day of March, 1953, regularly passed and adopted Reso-
lution No. 53-35 declsring its intention to vacate and abandon
certain portions of Orange Avenue and reserving an easement there-
in, as therein and hereinbelow described, which said Resolution was
regularly published as required by law; and
'~HEREAS, notice of said intention was duly posted as required
by Section 8322 of the Streets and Highways Code; and
WI~EREAS, public hearing was regularly held on the 20th day of
April, 1953 at the hour of 7:30 P. M. in the Council Chambers in the
City Hall of Santa ~na, California upon due notice in said Resolu-
tion and said posted notices contained;
NOW, THEREFORE, AFTER DUE HEARING, BE IT RESOLVED: That the
City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, from all the
evidence submitted, that those portions of Orange Avenue herein-
below and in said Resolution described, are unnecessary for the pres-
ent or prospective pubIic street purposes but that an easement there-
in as hereinbelow set out must be reserved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of
Santa Aha hereby makes its Order vacating, abandoning and closing up
for street purposes, those certain parcels of real property being
in the City of Ssnta ~na, County of Orange, State of Celifornia and
described as follows:
PARCEL 1. Beginning at the Northwest corner of Lot 18, Block
"H" of South Santa Ana, as per map thereof recorded in Miscel-
laneous Map Boo~ 5 at page ~3, Records of Orange County, State
of California, and running thence due south along the west line
of said Lot 18, 150.00 feet to the Southwest corner thereof;
thence South 89° 59' 30" West 50.00 feet; thence due North
52.68 feet thence North 30° 00' 00" East 15.65 feet to the
beginning of a curve; thence Northeasterly along the arc of
a curve concave Northwesterly having a radius of 350.00 feet
through a central angle of l~° 53' 27" an arc length of 90.96
feet and tangent to the last described course; thence North
89° 59' 30" East 7.39 feet to the point of beginning;
ABOVE bearings based on the East and West lines of Orange
Avenue running due North and South.
PARCEL 2. Beginning at the Northwest corner of Lot l,
Block "I" of South Santa ~na, as per map thereof recorded in
Miscellaneous Nap Book 5, at page 43, Records of Orange County,
State of California, and running thence Southerly along the
West line of said Lot l, 151.73 feet to the Southwest corner
thereof; thence Westerly in a straight line 50.00 feet to the
Southeast corner o~ Lot 8, ~lock "J" of said South Santa
thence Northerly along the east line of said Lot 8, 151.71 feet
to the Northeast corner thereof; thence ~asterly in a mtraight
line 50.00 feet to the Poin~ of Beginning.
BE IT FuRTHER RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of
Santa Aha hereby declares that public convenience and necessity re-
quire and there is hereby made a reservation of an easement and right
of way from said vacation for the maintenance, operation, replacement,
and enlargement of lines of pipe for the operation of gas pipe lines
in and over that part of Orange Avenue herein vacated described as:
Beginning at the Northwest corner of Lot l, Block "I" of
South Santa ~na as per map thereof recorded in Miscellaneous
Map Book 5 at page 43, Records of Orange County, California,
running thence Southerly along the West lime of said Lot l,
56.00 feet; thence due West in a straight line, 50.00 feet
to a point on the East line of Lot 8, Block "J" of said South
Santa aha; thence Northerly along the East line of said Lot
8, 12.00 feet; thence due East in a straight line, 38.00 feet;
thence Northerly and parallel to the Westerly line of said
Lot l, 44.00 feet to the Southerly line of Zdams Street;
thence Easterly along the South line of Adams Street to %he
Point of Beginning.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City 0ouncil of the City of Santa Aha
at its regular meeting held the
