RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, C~LIFORNIA,
DETERMINING THE GENERAL PREVAILING
RATE OF PER DIEM WAGE AND THE GEN-
ERAL PREVAILING RATE FOR LEGAL
HOLIDAY AND OVERTINE WORK IN SAID
CITY, FOR CERTAIN CRAFTS OR TYPES
OF WORK~EN.
WHEREAS, this City Council has by its Resolution
No. 5~78 ordered certain work or improvement, said
work or improvement being more particularly described in
its Resolution No. 53-43 and shown on plans (which include
profiles and detailed drawings) designated "Revised Plan
No. 195," on file in the office of the Clerk of the Council
of said city, and described in specifications designated
"Revised Specifications No. 195," also on file in the office
of said Clerk of the Council; and
WHEREAS, this City Council has ascertained the
general prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality
in which sai8 work is to be performed for each craft or type
of workman needed to execute the contract for said work, and
this City Council has ascertained the general prevailing rate
for legal holiday and overtime work in said locality for each
craft or type of workman needed to execute said contract;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
Santa Ana, California, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND
ORDER as follows:
Section 1. That the general prevailing rate of per
diem wages, overtime and rates in which said work is to be per-
formed for each craft or type of workman needed to execute the
contract for said work is determined to be as follows, to wit:

or asphalt plant)
Concrete or asphalt spreading, mechanical
tamping or finishing machine operator
Concrete mixer operator, paving type and
mobile mixer
Concrete mixer, operator, skip type
Heavy duty repairman
Heavy duty repairman - helper
Motor patrol operator, including any type
of power blade
Roller Operator
Screed operator
Tractor operator--bulldozer, tamper, scraper,
or drag type shovel or boom attachments
Universal equipment operator (shovel, drag-
line, derrick, derrick-barge, clamshell
or crane)
TRUCK DRIVERS
Driver of dump trucks (less than 4 Yds.
water level)
Driver of dump trucks (4 Yds. but less
than 8 Yds. water level)
Driver of dump trucks (8Yds. but less
than 12 Y~s. water level)
Driver of dump trucks (12 Yds. but less
than 16 Yds. water level)
Driver of dump trucks (16 Yds. or more

Any classification omitted herein not less than ~o94

FORE'MEN:
All foremen in the Carpenter, Cement Nason,
Iron Worker, Laborer, Operating Engineer
and Truck Driver classification and not here-
in separately classified shall be paid not
less than l?-l/2 cents per hour more than
the hourly rate of the highest classification
over which they have supervision. All other
foremen not herein separately classified shall
be paid not less than 12-1/2 cents per hour
more than the Journeyman rate for the craft
involved.
APPRENTICES: Nay be employed in conformity with Section
1777.5 of the Labor Code.
The general prevailing rates for overtime work in
said locality for each craft or type of workman needed to
execute said contract is determined to be as follows:
CARPENTERS - Double time for all overtime.
CENENT NASONS - Time and one-half for the first
three hours after the regularly constituted
straight time shift, and all other overtime
shall be double time.
WATCHMEN - Time and one-half for all time worked in
excess of eight (8) hours per day and for
the sixth consecutive day worked; and double
time for the seventh consecutive day worked.
Watchmen shall also receive time and one-half
for holidays except where a holiday falls on
the 7th consecutive day worked, which shall
be double time.
OPERATING ENGINEERS, LABORERS, TRUCK DRIV~S -
Time and one-half except Sundays and
Holidays which are double time°
ALL OTHER CRAFTS AND TYPES OF WORK~EN - Not less
than one and one-half (l-l/2) times the said
prevailing hourly rate of wage.
Except as otherwise provided herein, said rates are determined
to be the general prevailing rate for working time on Sundays
and the following seven legal holidays, to wit: New Year~s
Day, Decoration Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Armistice
Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. If any of the above
named holidays occur on Sunday, the Nonday next succeeding
shall be considered a legal holiday.
Section 2. Said general prevailing rates shall be
specified in the call for bids for said contract and in the
contract itself.
