PURCHASE OF 25,000 ACRE FEET OF ~TROPOLITAN AQUEDUCT WATER
FROM FUNDS OF THE ORANGE COUNTY FLOOD COntROL DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ann is an integral part of the
Orange County Flood Control District and subject to tax by said
District; and
V;HEREAS, the past year has been one of sub-normal rainfall and
it is desirable for conservation and replenishment of the underground
waters of the Orange County basin, that surplus Metropolitan water be
imported to deposit in the ~anta Aaa River;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Oouncil of Santa
Ann hereby approves the use of surplus funds of the Orange County
Flood Control District now on hand for, and requests that they be made
available to purchase 25,000 acre feet of surplus water from the Metro-
politan Water District to be delivered into the stream flow of the
Santa Ann River during the next six months for the purpose of conserv-
ing and replenishing the underground waters of the Orange County water
basin.
