7~EREAS, TP~ City Council after study, concluded that a por-
tion of Grand Avenue should be vacated on the ground that the same
is unnecessery for present or prospective street purposes; and
I~UiEREAS, there is attached to this Resolution, a map showing
the portion of Grand Avenue proposed to be vacated; and
~!~REAS, the Planning Commission has recommended that said
portion of Grand Avenue be vacated;
~0~;, TH~:~0~, ~E iT RESOLVED: That said map be and the same
is hereby approved and the Clerk of the Co,nail is ordered to file
the same in the proceedings for the vacation of that portion of Grand
Avenue hereinbelow described, that said map may be available for in-
spection by the public.
BE IT ~n~JRT~R RESOLVED: That the City Council hereby declares
its intention to vacate and abandon a portion of Grand Avenue as
shown on an official map thereof adopted by this Resolution and ref-
erence is hereby mede to said map for further parSiculars; and
That the portion of Grand Avenue herein proposed to be vacated
lies in the City of Santa ~na, County of Orange, State of California
and is described as:
Beginning at the Ooutnwest corner of Lot 73, of "Santa Ann
Grand Avenue Tract", as shown on a map recorded in Book 26,
at pages 53 end 5~, of Hiscellaneous Records of Los Angeles
County, California; thence North 28° 40' 05" East, along
the ~¥esterly line of said Lot 73, 37.83 feet to a point in
the East line of Grand ~venue, 60.00 feet wide, as described
in the deed recorded ~ay 10, 1892, in Book 63, at page 230,
of Deeds. records of Orange County, California; thence North
0° 10' 15" West, along said East line, 246.76 feet to an
intersection with the East line of Grand Avenue, 80.00 feet
wide, as described in the deed recorded April ~, 1935, in
Book 747, at page 85, of Official Records, records of said
Orange County, said point being on a curve concave ~esterly
and having a radius of 20~0.00 feet; thence Southerly along
said curve through a central angle of 5o Al' 08" an arc dis-
tance of 202.&4 feet to a line tangent; thence Oouth ll° ll'
25" West, along said tangent line, 81.21 feet to an intersec-
tion %~'ith the ~JYesterl~ extension o~ the South line of said
Lot 73; thence ~9°
Oouth 50' 25, East, ~long said extension,
27.72 feet to the point of beginning.
That the .. ~th day of April __, 195~ at the hour of 7:30
P. ~. on said day in the Council Chambers in tl~e City Hall, Third
end ~gain Streets in the City of Santa ~na, C~lifornia, is hereby
fixed as the time and place for hearing all persons interested in
or objecting to the proposed vacation of said portion of ~rand
~venue.
That the City Council hereby declares its intention to proceed
~ith this said street vacation under the provisions of the Street
Vacation Act of 1941, Part 3, Division 9, of the Streets and High-
weys Code of the State of California.
That the Cler~ of the Council is hereby directed end ordered
to publish this Resolution in the m~nner prescribed by law for the
publishin~ of Ordinances of the City and the Director of P~blic ~orks
is hereby ordered end directed to post conspicuously along the lines
of that portion of Grand Avenue herein proposed to be vacated, at
least l0 days before the date herein set for hearing, notices stating
the passage of this Resolution of intention end the time and place
of hearing herein fixed; such notices ~h~ll be posted not more than
300 feet apart and at leest 3 of s~ch notices shall be posted along
said street herein proposed to be vacated.
