Notice is hereby given bidders that in accordance with the
provisions of Section 1V?O of the Labor Code~ the City Council
of the City of Santa Ana has ascertained the prevailing rate of

Overtime - Not less than one and one-half (1-1/2) times
the above rates~
Sundays and holidays - Not less than one and one-half
(l-l/2) times the above rates~
The foregoing prevailing wage schedules are based upon a
working day of eight (B) house, and in the event that laborers,
workmen, or mechanics are employed less than eight (8) hours
per day, the rate of per diem wages shall be deemed to be that
fraction of the foregoing rates that the number of hours of
employment bears to eight (~)o
In accordance with the provisions of Section 17V7o5 of
the Labor Code as amended by Chapter 971, Statutes of 1939,
and in accordance with the regulations of the California
Apprenticeship Council, properly indentured apprentices may
be employed in the prosecution of the work~
The bidder ~mast submit with his proposal a satisfactory
check certified by a responsible bank and payable to the order
of the City of Santa Ana, or a bidder's bond, for an amount
not less than ten (10) per cent of the aggregate sum of the
bid, as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into the pro-
posed contract if the same is awarded to him, and in event of
failure to enter into such contract said check or bond shall
become the property of the City~
The amount of the bond to he given to secure a faithful,
performance of the contract for said work,shall be fifty (80)
per cent of the contract price thereof, and an additional bond
in an amount equal to fifty (50) per cent of the contract price
for said work shall be ~iven to secure the payment of ctal~m
for amy materials or supplies fUrnished for the performance
of the work contracted to be done by the Contractor~ or any
work or labor of anykind done thereon, and the Contractor will
also be required to furnish a certificate that he,carrie~ com-
pensation insurance covering his employees upon work to be
done under contract which may be entered into between him and
the said City for the construction of said work°
,No bid will be accepted from a Contractor who is not
licensed in accordance with the provisions of the contractor's
License Act, or to whom a proposal form has not been issued
by the City Engineer°
The work is to be done in accordance with the profiles, plans
and specifications of the City of Santa Ana on file in the office
of the City Engineer, Room 201, of the City Hall of Santa Aha,
California° Copies of the plans and specifications will be furnished
upon application to the City Engineer for which a charge of $ S.O0
will be required° The charge will not be refunded,
The Cit~ Council of the City of S~mta Ana reserves the
right to reject any and all bids°
