OF SANTA ANA REQ~--~A GRANT FROM THE COUNTY OF
ORANGE FOR ,f~ DEVELOPMENT OF EAST FIRST STREET.
W~tEREAB, The City of Santa Aha desires to improve East First Street
from the Santa Fe Railroad tracks to the East city limits; and
WHEREAS, East First Street is an important East-West artery in the
County of Orange and of general County interest.
NOW, '£~saEFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Council of the City of
Santa Ana hereby requests the County of Orange to grant to said City aid out
of the County's apportionment of the Highway User's Tax Fund in amount of
$44,025.00 to be used to aid said City in the improvement of East First Street
from the Santa Fe Railroad tracks to the East city limits, said improvement to
consist of the widening of said stree% the construction of curbs, gutters and
the paving of said street, all in accordance with plans and specifications sub-
mitted by said City to the Highway Department of the County of Orange.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLV~D: That the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Orange be and it is hereby requested to find that said work on East First Street
in the manner provided is in the general County interest, and said Board is
further requested to maws the appropriation as herein requested and to m-ks said
funds available to said City.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That by this Resolution the City of Santa Ana
agrees to go forward with said work and to provide for the costs and expense for
such work over and above the said figure of $44,025.00, and further agrees that
upon acceptance of this request and upon the making of said grant of aid by the
County, this Resolution and the Resolution of the Board of Supervisors making
said granted any and all laws applicable thereto shall constitute the agree-
ment between the County of Orange and the City of Santa Ana.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Clerk of the Council is hereby in-
structed to forward two certified copies of this Resolution to the Highway
Department of the County of Orange for submission to the Board of Supervisors
with their comments thereon.
