HIGHWAYS CODE AND VACAT~ AND SUBI~gNDE~ MAIN ST~J~T
IN THE CITY OF SANTA ANA A~ A STATE HIGHWAY ROUTE.
WHEEEA~ there now exists~ via the Santa Aha Freeway, a desirmble con-
nection from Route 60 near Coron~ del Mar and Route 2 in ~ant~ Aha, and
WHEREAS, Section 484 defines Route 184 ms being in p~rt "via Main Street"
and the Highway Department can make no change without amendment of said Section
NOW, T~RE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of
Samta Aha hereby requests the Legislature of the State of California to amend
$$etion 48~ of the Streets and Highways Code of said State so as to el~m~uate
therefrom al 1 reference to Main Street in the City of Santa Aha, and.
BE IT FURTHER ~E~OLVED: That the Highway Commission of the State of
California is hereby requested to vacate, surrender and eliminate Main Street in
the City of ~anta Aha ms a State Highway and to remove the State Highway from
said Main Street, and
BE IT FU~J'~g RESOLVED: That the Clerk of the Council is hereby in-
structed to furnish a certified copy of this Resolution to the Ro~i Department
of the County of Orange~ to Senator John Murdy~ to Assemhlymau W~wl Stanley, to
the Highway Comm~ssion of the State of California and to the Division of Highways
of the State of California.

regular meeting held on the 3rd day of January, 1955.
