STANLEY A. GRISWOLD WHERE PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDED
DENIAL
%~tE~kS, by R~solution No. 744, the Planning Commission, after due
hearing, recommended that a variance, as requested by Application No. 588,
be denied, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana, after consideration
of all the facts, disagrees with the denial of said variance and finds that
special circumstances exist in the peculiar shape of the lot and its size;
that reasonable property rights are not available to this location because
of the fact that directly to the Northwest a row of duplex properties exist
although this property is R-l, and that due West of this property a row of
duplexes exist.
NOW~ THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of
Santa Ana hereby grants a v~riance to effect that certain property described
as Lot 37 in Tract No. 1788, as per map in Miscellaneous ~p Book 52, Page 17,
Miscellaneous Maps, Orange County, California, to allow the construction thereon
of a duplex, an R-2 use, upon the condition that said duplex face on Fourteenth
Street.

regular meeting held on the 21st day of March, 1955.
