HomeMy WebLinkAbout55-117RESOLUTION NO. ~5-117 GIVING NOTICE OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO CITY OF SANTA ANA OF THAT CERTAIN UNINI{ABIT~4~ TEP~ITORY DES- CRIBED HEREIN AND DESIGNATED "SPURGEON N~940RIAL ANNEX", AND GIVING NOTICE OF TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING OF PROTESTS THERETO W"HEREAS, the Boundary Commission of Orange County, California, has approved the description of certain real property as herein set out for the purpose of an- nexation and the Planning Commission of Santa Ana has approved the annexation of said territory; and W-HF_J~AS, the owners of said real property have filed a petition with the Clerk of the Council, requesting that the City of Santa Ana, California, annex said real property, stating that the same is uninhabited, consenting in writing that said real property m~y be taxed to pay any indebtedness or liability of said City contracted prior to such annexation; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby declares its intention to annex all of said territory under the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939 and finds and hereby declares that said territory is deemed uninhabited since it had less than 19 registered voters residing in it on April 27, 1955, the date when said petition was filed, that said territory is contiguous to the City of Santa Aha, California, lies in the County of Orange, and is described as: Beginning at the Southwest corner of Lot 13, Potts, Borden and Sidwell Tract, as per map thereof recorded in Book 4, Page 624, Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County, California, said Southwest corner being on the centerline of Memory L~ne, said point also being on the Northerly City Limit line of the City of Santa Ana; running thence East 362.43 feet along the said center line and the City Limit line to the Southwest corner of Tract 2089, as per map thereof recorded in Book 60, Pages 6 and 7, Mis~ cellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, California, said point being an angle point in the City Limit line; thence North 0° 03' 45" West 660.97 feet along the Westerly line of said Tract 2089 and the Westerly City Limit line to the Northwest corner of said Tract 2089, said corner being on an angle point in the City limit line of the City of Santa Aha, said point also being on the North line of the South half of said Lot 13; thence leaving the City Limit line of the City of Santa Ana North 89° 59' 55" West 369.43 feet along the said North line of the South half of Lot 13 to a point in the West line of said Lot 13; thence gouth 0° 03' 45" East 660.98 feet along the West line of said Lot 13 to the point of beginning. Bearings and distances shown on Record of Survey, Book 29, Page 14. Tb~t said Council hereby designated "SPURGEON MEMORIAL ANNEX" as an approp- riate name for said annexation. That said Council hereby declares its intention to and it will annex said territory to and include it within the Santa Ana Elementary School District, Santa Ana High School District and Santa Ana Junior College District and upon the com- pletion of said annexation, said territory shall be and become a part of said School Districts. NOTICE IS HFAtEBY GIVEN that June 20~ 1955, at the hour of 7:30 P. M. in the Council Chambers in the City Hall at Third and Main Streets~ in the City of Santa Aha, California, is the time and place fixed at which said Council will hear protests made by any person owning real property within said territory so proposed to be annexed. At any time before said hour~ any owner of any of said property may file written protest against this proposed annexation. Such protest should state the name of the owner and a description and area of the property in the general terms.
