WHEREAS, Bristol Street as it now exists in the City of Santa
Ana, California, is inadequate in width to accommodate the present
and future demands of traffic thereon;
NOW, THEREFORE, HE IT RESOLVED: That the Council of the City
of Santa Ana does hereby find and determine that the public interest
and necessity require that Bristol Street between Pine Street and
Fourth Street be widened and improved as shown on a map thereof on
file in the office of the City Engineer and herein referred to for
greater detail, to accommodate the present and future demands of
traffic thereon and further require that said City do have, take and
acquire an easement for said purpose in and to those parcels of
land, described as:
PARCEL l: That portion of Tract No. 999, in the City of Santa
Ana, County of Orange, State of California, as shown on the
map thereof recorded in Book 33, page 10, of Miscellaneous Maps,
records of said Orange County, described as follows:
Beginning at the Southeast corner of said Tract No. 999,
being the Northwest corner of the intersection of Pine Street
and Bristol Street in said City of Santa Ana, as shown on said
map, and running thence Westerly along the Northerly line of
said Pine Street, 126 feet; thence Northerly, parallel with
the Westerly line of said Bristol Street, 6~ feet; thence East-
erly, parallel with said Northerly llne of Pine Street, 126
feet to said Westerly line of Bristol Street; thence Southerly,
along said Westerly line of said Bristol Street, 64 feet to the
point of beginning;
PARCEL 2: That portion of Tract No. 999, in the City of
Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of California, as shown on
the map thereof recorded in book 33, page 10, of Ntscellaneous
Naps, records of said Orange County, described as follows;
Beginning at a point on the East line of said Tract No. 999,
North 0° 13' East 64 feet from the Southeast corner thereof,
said Southeast corner being the Northwest corner of the inter-
section of Pine Street and Bristol Street in said City of Santa
Ana, as shown on said map, and running thence Westerly a~ong a
line parallel with the Northerly line of Pine Street, 12b feet;
thence Northerly, parallel with the Westerly line of Bristol
Street, 64 feet; thence Easterly parallel with the Northerly
line of Pine Street 126 feet to the Easterly line of said Tract
No. 999; thence Southerly along said Easterly line 64 feet to
the point of beginning;
PARCEL 3: The North 45 feet of the South 90 feet of the East
90 feet of Lot I in Block A of Tract No. 132, in the City of Santa
Aha, County of Orange, State of California, as shown on a map
thereof recorded in book ll, page 42, of Miscellaneous Maps,
records of said 0r~uge County;
PARCEL 4: The North ~5 feet of the South 135 feet of
the East 90 feet of Lot I in Block A of Tract No. 132, in
the City of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of California,
as shown on a map thereof recorded in book ll, page 42, of
Miscellaneous Maps, records of said Orange County;
PARCEL 5: Lot i in Block "B" of Goldsmith's Addition
to the Town of Santa Aha, in the City of Santa Ana, County
of Orange, State of California, as shown on a map thereof
recorded in book ~l, page 23, of Miscellaneous Records of
Los Angeles County, California.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Attorney be and he is
hereby ordered and directed to bring an action in the name of the
City of Santa Ana in the Superior Court of the State of California
and for the County of Orange, for condemnation of said property
necessary to be taken as herein ordered and heretofore described
and do all things necessary to prosecute said action to final de-
termination.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the public interest, necessity
and convenience require and it is hereby ordered, that the City of
Santa Aha, a Municipal Co~poration, Plaintiff in the condemnation
action ordered herein, take immediate possession and use of the
property herein ordered to be acquired, upon complying with the
requirements of the law applicable thereto, that the City Attorney
report to the Director of Finance, the amount of money required
therefor, and that the Director of Finance deposit said amount with
the Court.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the said action for condemna-
tion of said property so to be acquired shall be taken in accord-
ance with Section 14, Article I of the Constitution of the State of
California.
