SOUTH MAIN STREET MAY MORE ECONOMICALLY BE DONE BY THE CITY
WHEREAS, after proper notice, bids for the widening and re-
surfacing of South Main Street between Bishop and Walnut Streets
were opened on the 15th day of August, 1955 and the City Council,
a~ the meeting held on said date, rejected all bids presented; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager submitted to the City Council, the
Engineer's estimate for said work and reported that he had had the
figures rechecked and believed said estimate, in amount of $49,105.00,
was a figure within which said work could be done;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the
City of Santa Aha hereby deteEnines and declares that, in its opinion
based on the estimate submitted by the City Manager, the work in-
volved in the widening and re-surfacing of South Main Street between
Bishop and Walnut Streets may be better or more economically per-
fommed by the City of Santa Aha with its own employees in view of the
high prices received on all of its bids submitted for said work;
therefore, the City Manager is hereby directed to authorize the De-
partment of Public Works to proceed with the execution of this work
on the exact plans and specifications used in inviting bids.

Ana at its regular meeting held on the 15th day of August, 1955.
