HomeMy WebLinkAbout55-252 RESOLUTION NO. 55-252 AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 5114 ESTABLISH- ING A BASIC COMPENSATION PLAN BY A~DING SECTIONS 3, 13 and 14 THEREOF AND BY ADDING A NEW SECTION 15 THERETO TO FIX COM- PENSATION OF MOTORCYCLE OFFICER - POLICE DEPARTmeNT BE IT RESOLVED: That Section 3 of Resolution Number 5114, as heretofore amended, is further amended as follows: That the Class of Employment Title "Motorcycle Officer - Police Department" be deleted from Schedule No. 28 and included in a 'Y Schedule' immediately following Schedule No. 29 in words and figures as follows: "(29)-Y Motorcycle Officer, Police Department" and that employees assigned to said Class of Employ- ment and performing the duties prescribed for such employment shall be paid the rates of pay assigned to Schedule No. 29 under the same conditions applying to other Classes of Employment assigned to said Schedule No. 29. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That Section 13 of Resolution Number 5114 be amended to read as follows: "Section 13. Discontinuance of Present Special Pay Provisions. Upon the effective date of this Resolution, except for the provisions of Section 12 herein, the pa~nents for uniform allow- ances, cost of living increases, or other special payments above the rates established herein for regular service, shall be discon- tinued but that any member of the Police Department who is as- signed by the Chief of Police to duty, the major portion of which involves the riding of a two-wheeled motorcycle, shall be paid extra compensation computed at the rate of 925.00 per month for the time he is assigned to such duty. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That Section 14 of Resolution Number ~ll4 be amended to read as follows: "Section 14. Sstabltshment of Designation of a Sch.~ule Number as a 'Y Schedule'. Any employee occupying a position in a Class of Employment which is assigned to a 'Y Schedule' as provided in Section 3 as amended, shall be allowed to continue to receive the salary that was assigned to such '¥ Schedule' under the same conditions apply- ing to other Classes of Employment assigned to the s~e Schedule Number so long as said employee continues to perform the duties prescribed for such employment. When any employee on a 'Y Schedule' vacates his position, no appointment shall be made to fill such vacancy; and whenever all such employees shall have va- cated their positions, the 'Y Schedule' so created shall be abol- ished. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That a New Section to be Numbered Section l~ is hereby added to Resolution Number ~ll4. "Section l~. Effective Date. The effective date of Resolution Number ~ll4 was the 1st dzy of December, 19~l and the date this Resolution amending Number ~ll4 shall take effect is September l, 19~."
