HomeMy WebLinkAbout56-205RESOLUTION N0. 56-205 GIVING NOTICE OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO THE CITY 0F SANTA ANA OF THAT CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESCRIBED HEREIN AND DESIGNATED "SOUTH STANDARD ANNEX", AND GIVING NOTICE OF TI~E AND PLACE FOR HEARING OF PROTESTS THERETO WHEREAS, the Boundary Commission of Orange County, California has approved the description of certain real p~operty as herein set out for the purpose of annexation, and the Planning Commission of Santa Aha has approved the annexation of said territory; and WHEREAS, the o~ers of said real property have filed a petition with the Clerk of the Council, requesting that the City of Santa Ana, California annex said real property, stating that the same is unin- habited, consenting in writing that said real property may be taxed to pay any indebtedness or liability of said City contracted prior to such annexation; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby declares its intention to annex all of said territory under the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Ter- ritory Act of 1939 and finds and hereby declares that said territory is deemed uninhabited since it had less than 12 registered voters residing in it on July 13, 1956, the date when said petition was filed, that said territory is contiguous to the City of Santa Ana, California, lies in the County of Orange, and is described as: Beginning at an angle point on the Santa Ana, California City limits line, said angle point being the northeast cor- ner of the "Townsend Annexation" as established by the City of Santa Ana Ordinance No. 1341, passed on April 21, 1952, said point of beginning being a point on the north line of Delhi Road %%4-%4 feet easterly from the center line of Standard Avenue measured along the north line of Delhi Road; thence westerly along said city limit line and along the north line of Delhi Road and along the north line of said "Townsend Annexation" to the east line of "South East Santa Ana Annexation" as established by the City of Santa Aha Ordi- nance No. 1173, passed on July 22, 1946; thence northerly along said City limit line and along the east line of said "South East Santa Aha Annexation" to the south line of that portion of Orange County Water Works District No. 6 annexed to the City of Santa Ana by Ordinance No. 1237, passed on November 15, 1948; thence easterly along the south line of said Annexation approved by said 0rdinauce No. 1237, 35.00 feet to an angle point in said city boundary; thence northerly along the east line of said Annexation approved by said Ordi- nance No. 1237, 135.00 feet; thence westerly along the north line of said Annexation approved by said Ordinance No. 1237, to the east line of said "South East Santa Ana Annexation"; thence northerly along the east line of said "South East Santa Ana Annexation" to the northeast corner of said "South East Santa Ana Annexation"; thence westerly along the north line of said "South East Santa Aha Annexation" to the east line of "Frank Borchard Annex No. l" as established by 0~di- nance No. NS-49 passed on July 6, 1954; thence along the northerly and easterly boundaries of said "Frank Borchard Annex No. l" as shown on a licensed Surveyor's map filed in Book 27, Page 49, of Record of Survey in the Office of the County Recorder of Orange County, California as follows: thence North 0° 3?' 15" East 833.00 feet; thence North 89° 22' 45" West 10?.00 feet; thence North 0° 37' 15" East 27.00 feet; thence North 89° 22' 45" West 992.00 feet; thence North 0° 37' 15" East 5.00 feet; thence North 89° 22' 45" West 238.65 feet to the west line of the Pacific Electric Railway Company Right of Way and to the east line of that territory described in Ordinance No. 681 passed March 27, 1922, which was annexed by Minute Order of the Trustees on May l, 1922; thence Northerly along said west line of the Pacific Electric Railway Company Right of Way and along the east line of said territory described in Ordinance No. 681 to the south line of the "Hobart Street Annex" as established by Ordinance No. NS-114, passed July 18, 1955; thence easterly along the south line of said "Hobart Street Annex" to the west line of Standard Avenue and to the west llne of the "Indus- trial Annex" (as established by Ordinance No. NS-134), passed September 26, 19~; thence along the westerly, southerly and northerly boundaries of said "Industrial Annex" ~he following courses and distances as described in said Ordinance No. NS-134; and as shown on a licensed Surveyor's Map filed in Book 29, Page 48 of Record of Survey in the Office of said County Recorder; thence south 0o 33' 40" West 1733.84 feet along the west line of Standard Avenue to the north line of Tract No. 696 as shown on a map recorded in Book 20, Pages 45 and 49 of Nisoellaneous Maps~ Records of Orange County California; thence south 89° 14' 15" west 10.00 feet along the north llne of said Tract No. 696; thence south 0° 34' 40'' west 224.54 feet along the west line of Standard Avenue; thence south 89° 22' 00" East 685.00 feet along the north line of block "C" in said Tract No. 696 and its easterly and westerly extensions to the east line of the Southern Pacific Railroad Right of Way; thence south 0° 34' 4~" west 2373.32 feet along the East line of said Southern Pacific Railroad Right of Way to the South line of Tract No. 726 as shown on a map recorded in Book 21, Page 38 of Miscellaneous Maps Records of said Orange County; thence south 89° 19' ~5" east ~97.3 feet along the south line of said Tract No. 72b to the easterly line of land described in a deed to Union Iron and Steel Company, a partnership, recorded January 14th, 1952 in Book 2273, pag8 4~4 of Official Records of said Orange County; thence South 0 34' 4~" west 709.30 feet along said Easterly line of land in deed to Union Iron and Steel Company to the north line of Delhi Road; thence westerly along the north line of Delhi Road 577.2~ feet more or less to the east Right of Way line of the Sou~rn Pacific Railroad; thence northerly along said east line of said Railroad Right of Way 10.00 feet; thence westerly along the north line of Delhi Road as it exists west of said Railroad, and its easterly extension to the point of beginning. That said Council hereby designates "South Standard Annex" as an appropriate name for said annexation. That said Council hereby declares its intention to and it will annex said territory to and include it within the Santa Ana Elemen- tary School District, Santa Ana High School District and Santa Ana Junior College District and upon the completion of said annexation, said territory shall be and become a part of said School Districts. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that September 4, 1956 at the hour of 7:30 P.K. in the Council Chambers in the City Hall at Third and Main Streets, in the City of Santa Ana, California, is the time and place fixed at which said Council will hear protests made by any person owning real property within said territory so proposed to be annexed. At any time before said hour, any owner of any of said property may file written protest against this proposed annexation. Such protest should state the owner's name a~d, in general terms, a description and area of the property owned. Ana at 1956.
