HomeMy WebLinkAbout56-240RESOLUTION NO. ~6-2~0 DECIARING INTEBEST IN CER~OPERTY OWNED DY T~E COUN~DE~9_~NGE A~ ~QUEST- ING THAT SAID PROPERTY BE SOLD TO THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA. WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana owns, maintains and operates a park called Santiago Park on the Westerly side of Santiago Avenue, which is adjacent to certain properties owned by the County of Orange; and WHEREAS, the County of Orange uses said properties, hereinafter referred to, primarily for park or recreation area for the people of the County; and WHEBEAS, said areas would appear to be most logically used for park purposes in conjunction with the property now owned by the City which is immediately adjacent thereto and would be a most logical extension of said Santiago Park; and WHEBEAS, the City of Santa Aha could improve and maintain said areas more economically than the County of Orange or than any other entity and could, by proper improvement and utilization, afford vastly increased park and re- creational facilities to the people of Orange County. NOW~ TF~aEFORE~ BE IT ~ESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange to sell said land to said City and hereby offers to pay the County of Orange for the same the sum of Five Thousand Five Hundred Thirty-Eight Dollars and Sixty Cents ($~,538.60,). That the land or areas in this resolution referred to are shown as Parcel A; Parcel B and Parcel C on that certain map recorded in Book 33, at Page 47 of Record of Surveys, at the Office of the County Recorder of Orange County, California.
