AND GIVING NOTICE OF TIME AND PLACE OF HEARING OF
PROTESTS THERETO

WHEREAS, the Boundary Commission of Orange County, Calif-
ornia, has approved the description of certain real property as
hereinbelow set out for the purpose of annexation; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana, Calif-
ornia has determined the advisability of initiating proceedings
for such annexation, and has determined that said real property
is uninhabited as heretnbelow defined;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of
the City of Santa Ana hereby initiates proceedings for the annexa-
tion of the real property herein described; that the reasons why
said Council initiates proceedings in this particular matter are
as follows:
1. Said territory now has no water, sewer, or other
municipal services available to it, and there is indication of
demand for such services.
2. ~e area cannot develop without the availability of
such services, and there presently appears to be no way in which
said services can be supplied to said territory other than as a
part of the City of Santa Ana.
Annexation to the City of Santa Ana will be mutually
to said City and to the territory herein proposed to
That said City Council hereby declares its intention to
annex all of said territory under the provisions of the Annexa-
tion of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, and hereby finds and
declares that said territory is deemed uninhabited since it now
has, on the date of the adoption of this Resolution, less than
twelve registered voters residing therein. That said territory
is contiguous to the City of Santa Aha, lies in the County of
Orange, State of California, and is described as:
Beginning at the intersection of the northeasterly right-
of-way line of Delhi Road with the northwesterly right-of-
way line of Red Hill Avenue and running thence north
39° 48' 40" east 2,&41.40 feet more or less along said
northwesterly line of Red Hill Avenue to the northeasterly
rzght-of-way line of Valencza Avenue, thence north 50 09'
55" west along said northeasterly line of Valencia Avenue
~27.00 feet; thence north 39° 48' 40" east ~$0.00 feet;
thence south 50° 09' ~" east 62?.00 feet to said north-
westerly line of Red Hill Avenue; thence north 39° 48' 40"
east along said northwesterly line of Red Hill Avenue
1,981.~2 feet more or less to the southwesterly right-of-
~ line of the A.T. & S.F. Railroad; thence north 50° 10'
west along said southwesterly line of the railroad
2,290.?? feet more or less to a point which is south 50o 10'
50" east 290.00 feet from the southeasterly right-of-way
line of Newport Avenue; thence south 39° 48' 55" west 300.00
feet; thence north 50° 10' 50" west 290.00 feet to the south-
easterly right-of-way line of Newport Avenue; thence south
39° 48' ~" west along said southeasterly line of Newport
Avenue to its intersection with the southerly prolongation
of the westerly right-of-way line of Richey Street; thence
north 0o 31' 0O" east along said westerly line of Richey
Street and its southerly prolongation to a point which is

north 0 31 00 east 233.11 feet from the northwesterly
right-of-way line of Newport Avenue; thence south 89° 41' 53"
west 1,131.88 feet to the Santa Ana City boundary; thence
south 0° 31' 50" west along said city boundary 1,282.07
feet more or less to the north right-of-way line of Delhi
Road; thence south 89° 20' 15" east 267.03 feet to the
northwesterly right-of-way line of Newport Ave.; thence
north 39° 48' 55" east along said northwesterly line of
Newport Avenue to its point of intersection with the north-
westerly p~olongation of the northeasterly right-of-way
line of Delhi road as it exists southeasterly from Newport
Avenue; thence south 50° 10' 05" east along said north-
easterly line of Delhi Road and its northwesterly prolonga-
tion to the point of beginning.
Bearings and distances are as shown on licensed surveyor's
map filed in Book 34, Page l?, Record of Survey in the Of-
lice of the County Recorder of Orange County, California.
That "Delhi and Newport Annex" is hereby designated as an
appropriate name for said annexation.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that November 5, 1956 at the hour
of 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers in the City Hall at Third and
Main Streets, in the City of Santa Ana, California, is the time
and place fixed at which said Council will hear protests made by
any person owning real property within said territory so proposed
to be annexed. At any time before said hour, any owner of any of
said property may file written protest against this proposed an-
nexation. Such protect should state the owner,s name and, in
general terms, a description and area of the property owned.
That said Council hereby declares its intention to and it will
annex said territory to and include it within the Santa Ana Ele-
mentary School District, Santa Aha High School District and Santa
Aha Junior College District and upon the completion of said annexa-
tion, said territory shall be and become a part of said School
Districts.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Aha'at its adjourned regular meeting held on the 24th day of Septem-
bet, 1956.
