OF THE CITY COUNCIL AT THE RESIGNATION OF
~AYOR COURTNEY R. CHANDLER AND COMMENDING
HIM FOR A JOB WELL DONE
WHEREAS, on this first day of October, 1956, Mayor
Courtney R. Chandler has tendered his resignation as Councilman
of the City of Santa Ana, to be effective November l, 1956, and
as Mayor of said City, to be effective this date; and
WHEEEAS, Nayor Chandler has served his City continuously
as a member of the City Council since April of 1947;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Santa Ann that we and each of Ms by the adoption of this
Resolution express our sincere regret that business necessity is
requiring ~ayor Chandler to resign from the Council of the City
of Santa Ann, and express our warm individual feeling for him as
a friend and fellow Councilman who has worked with us and been a
leader among the people of this City in our continuous striving
for better, more economical, and more efficient City service to
the citizens of our community.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that we commend Courtney R. Chandler
for his leadership and fight against the elements of corruption in
government, both organized and individual; and upon his retirement
as ~ayor we commend him upon a job done for the people of this com-
munity, in the traditional Navy term, "well done."
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that we express to him the apprecia-
tion of the citizenry of our community for his contribution to
good government, and extend to him our best wishes for success in
his new occupation.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ann at its regular meeting held on the 1st day of October, 1956.
