OF DEPOSITS AND RELEASE OF SURE~Y BONDS GUARAN-
TEEING DELIVERY OF SALES TAX TO CITY
WHEREAS, heretofore Section 241~.1 of the Santa Ana
Municipal Code required a cash deposit or Surety Bond from re-
tailers within the City to guarantee that sales tax collected
by such retailers would be reported and delivered to the City;
and
WHEREAS, on April 1, 1956 the collection of City Sales
and Use Tax was turned over to the State Board of Equalization,
and the provisions o£ Part I of Chapter 4, Article II, of the
Santa Aha Municipal Code were suspended f~om operation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the Director of
Finance is hereby directed to refund all deposits made to comply
with said Section 2415.1, and all surety bonds deposited to com-
ply with said Section are hereby released, if the retailer that
made such deposit or posted such bond has filed his final return
or his return for the quarter ending March 31, 1956, as re~uired
by Part l, Chapter 4, Article II of said Code, and paid to the
City all sales tax money due the City by reason of the sales
made by such retailer prior to March 31, 1956.

Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 15th day of October,
1956.
