PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO--TEE CITY OF SANTA
ANA OF THAT CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY
DESCRIBED HEREIN AND DESIGNATED "SHINN
D~'E.E ROAD ANNEX", AND GIVING NOTICE OF
TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING OF PROTESTS
THERETO.
WHEREAS, the Boundary Commission of Orange County, California
has approved the description of certain real property as herein set
out for the purpose of annexation and the Planning Co~mmlssion of
Santa Aha has approved said annexation; and
WHEREAS, the o~ers of said real property have filed a peti-
tion with the Clerk of the Council, requesting that the City of Santa
Aha, California, annex said real property, stating that the same is
uninhabited, consenting in writing that said real property may be
taxed to pay any indebtedness or liability of said City contracted
prior to such annexation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council ~ the
City of Santa Ana hereby declares its intention to annex all of said
territory under the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited
Texu~itory Act of 1939 and finds and hereby declares that said terri-
tory is deemed uninhabited since it had less than 12 registered voters
residing in it on February 13, 1957, the date when said petition was
filed, that said territory is contiguous to the City of Santa Ana,
Ca~fornia, lies in the County of Orange, and is described as:
Beginning at the Northwest corner of the Southwest
quarter of Section 30, Township 5 South, Range 9 West,
as shown on a map of South Santa Aha Place, recorded in
Book 5, Page 50 of Miscellaneous Maps, records of said
0rm~ge County, said N~thwest comer being an angle
point in the City boundary of the City of Santa Ana;
thence Sou~h 89°45, 00" East 1328.90 feet al cng the
centerline of Dyer Road to the Northeasterly corner of
said Santa Aha Place and to an angle point in said City
boundar~ and to the true point of beginning; thence
South 0v 01, 05" East 668.53 feet along the Easterly
line of said Santa Arm Place and along said City bound-
ary to the Southeast corner of said Santa Aha Place;
thence North 89°45,00" West 330.00 feet; thence North
0°o1'05'' West 668.53 feet to a point on the centerline
of Dyer Road and to said City boundary; thence South
89° 45' 00" East 330 feet along the centerline of Dyer
Road and along said City boundary to the true point of
beginning.
That said Council hereby designates "Shinn Dyer Road Annex"
as an ~opropriate name fo~ said mnexation.
T~at said Council hereby declares its intention to and it
will ~nex said territor~ to and include it within the S~ta Aha
Elementary School District, Santa Arm High S~ ool District and Santa
Aha Junior College District and upon the completion of said annex-
ation, said territory shall be and become a part of said School
Districts.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that April 1, 1957, at the hour of
7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers in the City Hall at Third and Main
Streets, in the City of Smta Aha, California, is the time and place
fixed at ~hich said Council will hear protests made by any person
owning real property within said territory so proposed to be annexed.
At any time before said Hour, any owner of any of said property may
file written protest against this proposed annexation. Such protest
should state the owner.s name and, in general terms, a description
and area cZ the property owned.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City COuncil of the City of Santa
&ua at its regular meeting held on the 18th day of February, 1957.
