HomeMy WebLinkAbout57-188 RESOLUTION NO. 57-188 APPROVING THE CIRCULATION OF THE PETITION FOR ANNEXATION IN TERRITORY NORTHEAST OF SANTA ANA, CALI~)RNIA, KN0~N AS "NORTH OF TUS~IN ANNEXATION" WHEREAS, heretofore certain residents of terTitor~y lying north- easterly of Santa Ana submitted to t he City a request showing the bound- a~y of territory proposed for annexation, and requested the consent of the City Council for commencement of proceedings, which said boundary was approved by the Orange County Boundaries Commission as to definite- ness and certainty, and which proposed annexation was approved by the Planning Commission of Santa Ana; and WHEREAS, a notice of intention to c irculate a petition for annex- ation of said territory to the City of Santa Ana was regularly publish- ed, and a copy of said notice, together with the accompanying state- ment of the reasons for the petition, and an affidavit of the publica- tion was regularly filed with the Clerk of the Council of the City of Santa Ana, all as required by law; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby accepts receipt of a copy of t~e Notice of Intention to Circulate Petition containing a description of the bound- ary of the territory proposed for annexation, and a statement of the reasons for circulating the proposed petition, together with the Affi- davit of Publication for the same, and hereby approves the circulation of a petition for annexation to the City of Santa Ana, California, under the Annexation Act of 1913, ~mong the registered electors resid- ing in the territory in the County of Orange, State of California, described as: Beginning at the point of intersection of the center line of Santiago Avenue with the North line of Section 6, Township 5 South, Ra~e 9 West, San Bernardino Base & ~Ieridian, said point being an angle point in the City boundary of the City of Santa Ana, California; running thence southerly along said center llne of Santiago Avenue, and along said City boundary to .au angle point in said City boundary; thence easterly along said City boundary to an angle point in sai d City boundary; thence southerly along said City boundary to the center line of Santa Clara Avenue; thence easterly along said center line of Sauta Clara Avenue, and along said City boundary to the center line of Wright Street, and to an angle point in said City boundary; thence southerly along said City boundary and along said center line of Wright Street to an angle point in said City boundary; thence easterly along said City boundary to an angle point in said City boundary; thence southerly along said City boundary to the center line of Seventeenth Street; thence easterly along said center line of Seventeenth Street to its intersection with the center line of ~abury Street and to an angle point in said City boundary; thence northerly along the northerly extension of said center line of Mabury Street to the North line of Seventeenth Street, said North line being 40.00 feet North of the center line of Seventeenth Street; thence easterly along said North line of Seventeenth Street to the East line of the new alignment of Tustin Avenue (80 feet wide) as it exists immediately North of Seventeenth Street; thence southerly along said East line of Tustin Avenue to the North line of Seventeenth Street, said North line being 25 feet North of the center line of Seventeenth Street; thence easterly along said North line of Seventeenth Street to its intersection with the northerly extension of the East line of Tustin Avenue as it exists South of Seventeenth Street, said Eas~ line of Tustin Avenue being 50.00 feet East of the center line of Tustin Avenue; thence southerly along said northerly extension of said East line of Tustin Avenue to the South line of Seventeenth Street 50.00 feet wide; thence easterly along said South line of Seventeenth Street to the East line of the West 10.00 Acres of Lot 5 of the Felipe ¥orba Tract as said tract is shown on a map of the partition of the Rancho Santiago de Santa Aha; thence easterly along the North line of said Tract No.2407 and along the North line of Tract No. 1579 as shown on a Map thereof re- corded in Book ~4, Page 23, Miscellaneous Maps of Orange County, and along the North line arzi its easterly extension of Tract No. 1578 as shown on a map thereof recorded in Book 46, Page 28, Miscellaneous My s~ records of said Orange County, to the East line of Holt Avenue (80 feet wide); thence northerly along said East line of Holt Avenue to the sout~erly line of Warren Avenue (66 feet wide); thence easterly along said southe~y 1Lue of Warren Avenue to the northwesterly line of Newport Avenue (60 feet wide); thence northeasterly abng the northwesterly line of Newport Avenue to the easterly extension of a line parallel with and 25.00 feet southerly (measured at right angles) from the center line of Seventeenth Street; thence westerly along said easterly extension of said par~ lel line and along said parallel line to the southe~ y extension of the westerly line of the Southern Pacific Railroad right-of-way near Esplanade Avenue; thence northerly along said southerly extension and along said West line of said Railroad to the southerly line of Fairhaven Avenue (60 feet wide); thence easterly along said southerly line of Fai~haven Avenue to the southerly extension of the easterly line of Esplanade Avenue (60 feet wide); thence northerly along ssi d easterly line of Esplanade Avenue to the southeasterly prolongation of that certain south line of Tract No. 1059, as shown on a map thereof recorded in Book 34, Page 25, Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, having a -2- bearing of North 50° 30' 30" West; thence along said South line and along the southerly boundary of Tract No. 1059 to the South line of La Veta Avenue (40 feet wide); thence along said southerly line of La Veta Avenue and its exten- sions to the East line of Tustin Avenue, said East line being 50 feet East of the center line of Tustin Avenue; thence southerly along said East line of Tustin Avenue to the South line of Lot 12, Block "C", of the A. B. Chapman Tract, in the County of Orange, State of California, as shown on a map by Frank Lecouvreur made in December, 1870; thence westerly along said South line of Lot 12 and its westerly prolongation and the South lines and their extension of Lots 9, 10, and ll in Block "D" of said A. B. Chapman Tract, and along the North line of Lot 13 in said Block "D" to an angle point in the City boundary of the City of Orange; thence South along the East boundary line of the City of Orange to an angle point in said boundary; thence West along the South line and its extension of said boundary to the West line of Glassell Street (66 feet wide); thence southerly along said West line of Glassell Street to the North line of Fairhaven Avenue (50 feet wide); thence westerly along said North line of Fairhaven to the East llne of the A. T. & S. F. Railroad right-of-way line; thence northerly along said East line of the railroad to its point of intersection witi~ the northeasterly extension of the southeasterly line of that certain parcel of land described as Parcel i in Book 800, Page 154, Official Records of Orange County, Callfo~nia; thence along the following courses as shown on a map recorded in Record of Survey Book 33, Page 47, Records of Orange County, California; thence South 75o4l, 47" West aloB~ said northeasterly extension of the southeasterly line of said Parcel i to the southeast co~ner of said Parcel l; thence South 75° 41' 47" West along said southeasterly llne of Parcel l, 257.81 feet; thence South 38° 15' 17" West to the West line of that certain parcel of land leased to the County of Orange, recorded in Book 853, Page 450, Official Records of Orange County, Califo~nia; thence North O0° 12' 17" East along said West line of that certain parcel of land leased to the County of Orange, to the southeast corner of that certain parcel of land described as Parcel i in Book 1318, Page 531, Official Records of Orange County, California; thence South 71° 20' 50" West following along the South line of said Parcel l, a distance of 189.95 feet, to the East cor- ner of that certain parcel of land described as Parcel 2, in Book 800, Page 154, Official Records of Orange County, Cali- fornia; thence South 640 49' 50" West following along the South line of said Parcel 2, a distance of 716.95 feet to the southwest corner of said Parcel 2, said corner being in the East line of Santiago Avenue (60 feet wide); thence southerly along said East line of Santiago ~Avenue to its intersection with the North line of said Section 6; thence westerly along said North line of Section 6 to the point of beginning.
