BROWN WHEREAS, for nearly thirty years, PHIL M, BROWN has been an active, well known, and respected member of the City of Santa prominent in the business and civic life of the community; and W/tEREAS, for eighteen years following the adoption of Civil Service by the City of Santa Ana, PHIL M. BROWN served con- tinuously as a member of the Civil Service Board without any com- pensation, for many years acting as Secretary to said Board and thereafter, as Chairman of said Board, and by this long and con- tinuous public service, contributed much to the establishment of a Civil Service System in the City, and was considered a fellow City worker by the employees and officers of said City; NOW, T~EREFORE, BE IT I~ESOLVED: That the City Council expresses the appreciation of the official City family for the valuable and continuous service, for the contributions and fel- lowship of FHIL M. BROWN as a worker in the Municipal Government of this City, and extends the sympathy of the employees and offi- cials of .the City of Santa Ana to the friends and relatives of PHIL M. BROWN. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa Aha at its regular meeting held on the~tgt~T~aday of J~ly~ 1957.
