THE ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF SANTA
ANA~ DESIGNATING {fEAST OF PRENTICE PARK ANlfEX" AS
A NA~:~ FOR SAID TERRITORY, AND GIVING NOTICE OF
TIME AI~D PLACE OF HEARING OF PROTESTS THERETO
WHEREAS, the Boundaries Commission of Orange County, California
has approved the description of certain real property, hereinbelow set
out for the purpose of annexation, and the Planning Commission of said
City has recommended said ar~nexation; and
~{EREAS, the City Council of Santa Ana, California has acquired
title to 71 percent of the value of the territory hereby proposed to
be annexed, aud the remaining portion is owned by the State of Cali-
fornia, and all of s~t d territory is wholly uninhabited,
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT ~SOLVED, that the City Council of the City
of Ssata Ana hereby initiates proceedings for the annexation of the
real property herein described for the following reasons:
1. The City of Santa Aha holds title to ~pproximately 71 percent
of said area.
2. That the State of California holds title to the remaining 29
percent.
3- That no part of said territory is privately owned.
4- That the portion of said territory owned by the City cannot
be beneficially used without access to sewer and water serv-
ices and that said services may not be rendered outside the
City Limits of Santa Ana by said City.
BE IT FURTHER RE~]0LVED taat said City Council hereby declares
intention to annex all of said territory under the provisions of the
its
~nnexation of Uninhabited Territory ~ct of 1939, and hereby finds and
declares that said territor~ is uninhabited, is contiguous to the City
of Santa Ana, and said territory shall be taxed to pay any indebtedness
or liability of said City contracted prior to this annexation, and that
said territory lies in the County of Orange, State of California, and
is described as:
Beginning at the northwest corner of Lot i in Tract No. 24, as
shown on a map recorded in Book 9, Page 23, ~iscellaneous ~aps
of Orange County, California, said northwest corner being an
angle point in the city boundary of the City of Santa Ana,
California; and running thence North 89° 32' 4~" East along said
City boundary and along the north line of s~d Lot i to a point
in said north line 20.73 feet westerly from the northeasterly
corner of said Lot l; thence South 47° 16' ~9" West 69.57 feet;
thence South 8° 43' 22" East 69.1~ feet; thence South 30° 01'
22" East 121.29 feet to a point on the east line of said Lot l,
220.73 feet southerly from the northeast co~er of said Lot l;
thence southerly along said east line of Lot l, and along the
east line of Lot 3 in said Tract No. 24, to the southeast cor-
ner of said Lot 3, thence westerly along the south line of said
Lot 3 to the southwest corner of said Lot 3; and to an angle
point in said Santa Ana City boundazuf; thence northerly along
the west line of Lots 3 and I in said Tract No. 24 and along
said City boundary to the northwest corner of said Lot i and
to the point of beginning.
That "East of Prentice Park Annex" is hereby designated as an
appropriate name for said annexation.
That said Council hereby declares its intention to, and will,
annex said territory to, and include it within, t~e Santa Ana School
District, Santa Aha Hig~ School District, and Santa Aha Junior College
District.
NOTICE IS [[EREBY (~IVEN that December 2, 1957, at the hour of 7:30
o'clock P.H. in the Council Chambers in the City Hall at 3rd & ~.fain
Streets, San~a ~na, CaliCornia, is the time and place fixed at which
said Council will hear protests made by any person or legal entity
owning real property within s~d territory so proposed to be ~nexed.
At any time before ssid hour the owner of any of said property may
file written protest against this proposed annexation. Such protest
shall state the owner's nan~e, and in general terms a description and
area of the property owned.
