CONChPJIING PARKING F~GULAT1ONS ON MAIN STREAT (FIRST STREET TO NINTH STREAT)
WHEREAS~, The traffic conditions on Main Street are such as to cause undue
delay and congestion during the major portion of the day; and
It is desirable to have four (4) traffic lanes available for moving
WHEREAS:

It is physically and economically prohibitive to widen the street:
BE IT RESOLVED: That pursuant to the provisions of the California Vehicle
Code, Sections 459.8 and 472; and the Santa Ana Municipal Code, Sections 3216, 3217
and 3218, the City Council hereby rescinds and repeals the following parking regula-
tions previously set forth, as follows:
MAIN STREET
On beth sides of Main Street from First Street to Ninth Street, as follows:
1. One hour parking
2. All 12 minute or 24 minute meters
On the east side of Main Street between Fourth Street and Fifth Street, as follows:
1. South 29 feet of the north 200 feet - Yellow Zone
On the west side of Main Street between Sixth Street and Seventh Street,,as follows:
1. South 23 feet of the north 2-43 feet - White loading zone
On the west side of Main Street between Third Street and Fourth Street, as follows:
1. South 50 feet of the north 200 feet - White loading zone
On the west side of Main Street between Fourth Street and Fifth Street, as follows:
1. South 20 feet of the north 217 feet - Yellow loading zone
On the east side of Main Street between Second and Third Street, as follows:
1. South 9 feet of the north 156 feet - Yellow loading zone
On the east side of Main Street between Sixth and Seventh StreetS, as follows:
1. South 24 feet of the north 148 feet - Yellow loading zone
and the Director of Public Works is hereby directed to remove any signs or curb
markings as hereinabove described.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That pursuant to the California Vehicle Csde,
Sections ~59.8 and ~72; and the Santa Aha Municipal Code, Sections 3213, 3216,
3217 and 3218, the City Council hereby establishes the following parking
regulations:
On ~oth sides of Main Street, except the east side between Fifth and SLxth,
from the north curb line of First Street to the south curb line of Ninth Street,
as follows:
There shall be .NO STOPPING" at any time; except buses may stop in marked
loading zones to load and unload passengers.
Any vehicle parked in violation of this provision is hereby declared to be an
obstruction to traffic as defined in Section 585.2 of the California Vehicle Code
and may ~e towed away subject to the provisions of that section of the California
Vehicle Code.
On the west side of Main Street between First Street and Walnut Street, as follows:
South 3~ feet ~ RED zone
FOURTH STRE~
On the north side of Fourth Street between Main Street and B~sh Street, as follows:
East ~7 feet of the west 67 feet - YELLOW loading zone
SIXTH STREET
On the north side of Sixth Street between Main Street and Sycamore Street, as follows:
West 25 feet of the east 65 feet - WHITE loading zone
and the Director of Public Works is hereby directed to place appropriate signs and
curb markings as hereinabove described.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Santa Ana at its regular meeting
held on the 4th day of November
