INTENTION TO VACA-~.RTAIN UNNA~.D AL~EY~ OR
PORTIONS THEREOF AND PORTIONS OF MEASOR STREET
AND CENTRAL AVENUE, AND FIXING TIME AND PLACE
FOR HEARING THEREON
WHEREAS, after study, the Planning Commission and the Director
of Public Works have recommended the vacation of those alleys and
portions of alleys, and those portions of Measor Street and Central
Avenue hereinbelow described, the City Council, after study, has con-
cluded that the same may be unnecessary for present or prospective
street purposes, and has caused a map thereof to be prepared;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the map attached hereto
marked "Exhibit A" is hereby appmoved, adopted, and ordered filed as
a part of this Resolution in the office of the Clerk of the Council,
and reference ia hereby made to said map for particulars of location,
extent, te~waini and exact details of this proposed street vacation,
and the City Council hereby declares its intention to vacate, abandon
and close up as public streets those portions of Measor Street and
Central Avenue, those alleys and portions of alleys in the City of
Santa Aha, County of Orange, State of California, described as:
The following abandonments occur in Block D of Emmetts Addition:
That portion of the 15-ft. alley in Block D of the Emmetts Addi-
tion bounded on the east by the southerly extension of the east
line of Lot i and on the west by a line beginning at a point
17.5 ft. east of the southwest corner of Lot 4, and extend, ing south
to a point 17.5 ft. east of the northwest comer of Lot 5.
The following abando~ents occur in Block A of Wmmetts Addition:
That portion of the 15-ft. alley north of Lot 3 in Block A of
W. mmetts Addition and east of Lots 3, 4, and 5 in Bl&ck A of
Emmetts Addition, bounded on the west by a line beginning at
a point 5 ft. east of the SW corner of Lot 2 extending south
to a point 5 ft. east of the NW collier of Lot 3, and bounded
on the south by the easterly extension of the south line of
Lot 5.
The following abandonments occur in Block B of ~mmetts Addition:
The 15-ft. alley east of Lots 1 through 9 and that portion of
land s6uth of Lot 9 bounded on the east by the southerly exten-
sion of the east line of the alley, on the south by a line 25
ft. north of mud parallel to the center line of the Pacific
Electric Railroad, on the north by the south line of Lot 9, and
on the west by a line beginning at a point 5 ft. east of the
southwest corner of Lot 9 extending south to a line 25 ft. north
of and parsllel to the center of the Pacific Electric Railroad.
The following abandonment occurs in Block 6 of Tract No. 39:
That portion of the 15-ft. alley in Block 6 of Tract #39 bound-
ed on the west by the easte~l y line of Neasor St., on th~ east
by the following described line:
Beginning at a point on the south line of Lot 1 in Block 6,
32.85 feet west of the southeast corner of Lot 1, extending
southwesterly in a straight line to a point on the north line
of Lot 24 in Block 6, 33.70 feet west of the NE corner of Lot 24·
The following abandonment occurs in Block E of Emmetts Addition:
That portion of a 15-ft. alley in Block E of Emmetts Addition,
bounded on the east by the west line of Evergreen Street, on
the west by the following described line:
.Beginning at a point on the south line of Lot 12 in Block E,
2.3b ft. east of the SW corner of Lot 12, extending southwesterly
in a straight line to a point on the north line of Lot 13, 1.24
feet east of the northwest corner of Lot 13.
That portion of Measor Street bounded on the east by the westerly
line of Lot 12 in Block 8 of Tract No. 39, on the west by the
easterly line of Lot i in Block 7 of Tract 39, on the north by a
line beginning at a point 5 ft. south of the northwest corner of
Lot 12 in Block 8, extending west to a point 5 ft. south of the
corner of Lot l, Block 7.
The following abandonments of alleys occur in and between Block
5 of Tract No. 39, and Block H of the South Santa Aha Tract:
A 15-ft. alley running east and west bounded on t he west by the
easterly line of the Pacific Electric R~lroad Right-of-Way, and
on the east by the weste~ y line of Measor Street, extending
east to the westerly line of Lot 14 in Block 5.
T~e following abandonments occur between Block 7 of Tract No. 39,
and Block I of the Santa Aha Tract:
That portion of a 20-ft. alley bounded on the south by the north-
erly line of the Pacific Electric Railroad Right-of-Way, on the
north by a line 2.5 ft. south of the northeasterly corner of Lot
9 in Block I, extending east to the westerly line of Lot 13 in
Block 7.
The following abandonment occurs at the westerly edge of Block
4 of Tract No. 39:
That portion of a 20-ft. alley bounded on the north by the
southerly line of Block 3 in Tract 39, and on the south by the
westerly extension of the southerly line of Lot 8 in Block 4.
The following abandonment occurs in Block H of the South Santa
Aha Tract:
A 15-ft. alley bounded on the west by the easterly line of Orange
Aver~Ae, and on t he east by the westerly line of the Pacific
Electric Railroad Right-of-Way.
The following abandonment occurs in Block G of the South Santa
Aha Tract:
A 15-ft. alley bounded on the east by the westerly line of Orange
Avenue, and on the west by the easterly line of Cypress Avenue:
The following abandonment occurs in Block F of the South Santa
Ana Tract:
That portion of a 20-ft. alley bounded on the east by the wester-
ly line of Cypress Avenue and on the west by a line 150 feet west
of and parallel to t~e westerly line of Cypress Avenue.
The following abandonment occurs in Block D of the South Santa
Ana Tract:
The 10-ft. alley bounded on the east by the westerly line of
Lot 3 in Tract No. 1575, Md on the west by the easterly line of
Cypress Avenue.
The following abandonment occurs in Block E of the South Santa
Aha Tract:
The 10-ft. alley bounded on the east by the westerly side of
Cypress Avenue and on the west by a line 50 ft. east of and par-
allel to the center line of South Main Street.
The following abandonment occurs between Blocks A and B in Emmetts
Addition:
That easterly portion of Central Avenue bounded on the north by
the south line of Lot 5 in Block A, on the south by the north
line of Lot i in Block B, on the east by a line 128.9~east of
and parallel to the west line of Lot i in Block B, and on the
west by a line 5 ft. east of the southwest corner of Lot 5, Block
A, extending south to a point 5 ft. east of the northwest corner
of Lot l, Block B.
An easement shall be retained in a portion of the following des-
cribed abandoned alley:
The following abandonment of an alley occurs between Block 5 of
Tract No. 39, and Block H of the South Santa Aha Tract:
A 20-ft. alley running north and south, bounded on the north by
the westerly extension of the northerly line of Lot 13 in Block
5, and on the south by a line beginning at a point 2.5 feet north
of the southeast corner of Lot l0 in Block H.
The proposed easement shall be described as beginning at a point
2.5 feet north of the southeast corner of Lot 10, Block H, of the
South Santa AnaTract; thence north ~c~g the easterly lines of
Lot l0 and Lot 9 of Block H in the South Santa Aha Tract, approx-
imately 325 feet to a point on the westerly extension of the north
line of Lot 13, Block 5,'of Tract No. 39; thence east approximately
6 feet; thence southapproximately 325 feet along a line approxi-
mately 14 feet west of and parallel to the westerly lines of Lots
13 andlQ of Block 5 of Tract No. 39 to a point approximately 2.5
feet north of the southwest corner of Lot l~ in same Block 5;
thence west approximately 6 feet to the point of beginning.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the 16th day of December, 1957, at
the hour of 7:30 o'clock P.M. on said day, in the Council Chambers in
the City Hall, 3rd and Main Streets, in the City of Santa Aha, California,
is hereby fixed as the time and place for hearing all persons inter-
ested in or objecting to the proposed vacation of those portions of
streets and alleys herein described; that the City Council hereby

at its regular meeting held on the
ATTEST:
declares its intention to proceed ~ith this street vacation under the
provisions of the Street Vacation Act of 1941, Part 3, Division 9, of
the Streets and Highways Code of the State cf California; and
That the Clerk of the Council is hereby ordered to publish
this Resolution in the m~ner prescribed by law f~r the publishing
of OPdinances of the City, and the Director of Public Works is hereby
ordered to post conspicuously along the lines of all portions of streets
and alleys herein proposed to be vacated, at least l0 days before the
date of said hearing, notices stating the passage of this Resolution
of Intention md the time and place of hearing; such notices shall be
posted not more than 300 feet apart and at least 3 shall be posted
along said street herein proposed to be vacated.
