HomeMy WebLinkAbout57-306HESOLUTION NO. 57-306 ORDERING T~ VACATION, ABANDON- MENT, AND CLOSING OF CERTAIN UNNAMED ALLEYS OR PORTIONS THEREOF, AND PORTIONS OF MEASOR STREET AND CENTRAL AVENUE WHEREAS, heretofore on November 18, 1957, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 57-284, declaring its intention to vacate portions of Measor Street, Central Avenue, and certain unnamed alleys, which said Resolution was regularly published and posted, as required by law; and WHEREAS, public hearing was duly held on December 16, 1957 on the questions covered by said notice, and it was determined that public utilities maintained certain underground pipe lines, certain poles, guy wires and overhead lines in portions of some of the alleys proposed to be vacated; NOW, THEREFORE, AFTER DUE PKEARING, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Santa Aha hereby finds fr~n all of the evidence submitted that portions of alleys described in Resolution No. 57-284 should not be vacated by this proceeding, but that util- ity easements ahould be reserved in any vacation affecting said alleys, and that the portions of Measor Street and Central Avenue, and the unnamed alleys and portions thereof, hereinbelow and in s aid Resolution No. 57-284 described, are unnecessary for present or pros- pective street purposes. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that said City Council hereby makes its order vacating, abandoning, and closing up for street purposes those portions of Measor Street, Central Avenue, unnmned alleys and portions of alleys in the City of Santa Aha, County of Orange, State of California described as: The following abandonments occur in Block D of Emmetts Addition: That portion of the 15-ft. alley in Block D of the Emmetts Additiom bounded on the east by the southerly extension of the east line of Lot i and on the west by a line beginnin~ at a poi~ 17.5 feet east of the southwest corner of Lot 4 and extending south to a point 17.5 feet east of the north- west corner of Lot 5. The following abandonments occur in Block A of Emmetts Addl ti on: That portion of the iS-foot alley north of Lot 3 in Block A of Emmetts Addition and east of Lots 3~ ~, and 5 in Block A of Emmetts Addition, bounded on the west by a line beginning at a point ~ feet east of the SW corner of Lot 2 extending south to a point ~ feet east of the NW corner of Lot 3, and bounded on the south by the easterly extension of the south line of Lot 5. The following abandonments occur in Block B of Emmetts Addition: The l~-foot alley east of Lots i th~ ugh 9 and that portion of land south o£ Lot 9 bounded on the east by the southerly exten- sion of the east line of the ~ley, on ~he south by a line 25 feet north of and parallel to the center line of the Pacific Electric Railroad, on the north by the south line of~ Lot 9, and on the west by a line beginning at a point 5 feet east of the southwest corner of Lot 9 extending south to a line 25 feet north of and parallel to the center of the Pacific Electric Railroad. The following abandonment occurs in Block 6 of Tract No. 39: That portion of the 15-foot alley in Block 6 of Tract #39 bound- ed on the west by the easterly line of Measor Street, on the east by the following described line: Beginning at a point on the south line of Let i in Block 32.85 feet west of the southeast corner of Lot l, extending southweste~ y in a straight line to a point on t he north line of Lot 24 in Block 6, 33.70 feet west of the NE corner of Lot 24. The following abandonment occurs in Block E of Emmetts Addition: That portion of a 15-foot alley in Block E of h~nmetts Addition, bounded on the east by the west line of Evergreen Street, on the west by the following described line: Beginning at a point on the south line of Lot 12 in Block E, 2.36 feet east of the SW corner of Lot 12, extending south- westerly in a straight line to a point on the n~rth line of Lot 13, 1.24 feet east of the northwest corner of Lot That portion of Measor Street bounded on the east by the west- erly line of Lot 12 in Block 8 of Tract No. 39, on the west by the easterly line of Lot i in Block 7 of Tract 39, on the north by a line beginning at a point 5 feet south of the northwest corner of Lot 12 in Block 8, extending west to a point 5 feet south of the corner of Lot l, Block 7. The following abandonments of alleys occur in and between Block 5 of Tract No. 39, and Block H of the South Santa Aha Tract: A 15-foot alley running east md west bounded on the west by the easterly line of the Pacific Electric R~ lroad Right-of-Way, and on the east by the westerly line of Measor Street, extend- ing east to the westerly line of Lot 14 in Block 5. The following abandonments occur between Block 7 of Tract No. 39, and Block I of the Smta Ana Tract: That portion of a 20-foot alley bounded on the south by the northerly line of the Pacific Electric Railroad Right-of-way, on the north by a line 2.5 feet south of the northeasterly corner of Lot 9 in Block I, extending east to the westerly line of Lot 13 in Block 7. The following abandonment occurs at the westerly edge of Block 4 of Tract No. 39: -2- That portion of a 20-foot al ley bounded on the north by the southerly line of Block 3 in Tract 39, and on the south by the westerly extension of the southerly line of Lot 8 in Block 4. The following abandonment occurs in Block H of the South Santa ~na Tract: A l~-foot alley bounded on the west by the easterly line of Orange Avenue, and on the east by the westerly line of the Pacific Electric R~lroad Right-of-Way. The following abandonment occurs between Blocks A and B in E~metts Addition: That easterly portion of Central Avenue bounded on t he north by the south line of Lot ~ in Block A, on the south by the north line of Lot i in Block B, on the east by a line 128.9~ feet east of and parallel to the west line of Lot i in Block B, and on the west by a line ~ feet east of the southwest cor- ner of Lot ~, Block A, extending south to a point ~ feet east of the northwest corner of Lot l, Block B.
