TO PERmafIT SUNDAY AND HOLIDAY PARKING ON MAIN STREET
BEGINNING AT FIRST STREET, THROUGH NINTH STREET
WHEREAS, on Novenber 4, 1957, the City Council adopted Resolu-
tion No. 57-277 and on Nov~ber 12, 1957, the City Council adopted
Resolution No. 57-280, w?d ch said two Resolutions rescinded certain
parking restrictions and prohibited stopping end standing between
the hours of 10 a.m. and 9 p.m. of any day on North Main Street,
between First Street and Ninth Street, except on the east side be-
tween Fifth Street and Sixth Street; and
WHEEEAS, after further study and public hearing the City Council
has determined that the prohibition against stopping or parking be-
tween said hours in said area is unnecessary on Sundays and legal
holidays, other than Saturdays;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That Resolutions No. 57-277
and 57-280 are hereby amende°~
amending
paragraph numbered (1) of Resolution
No. 57-280 to read as follows:
"(1). No person shall s top any vehicle on either side of
North Main Street from the nc~th curb line of First Street
to the south curb line of Ninth Street in the City cF Santa
Ana, California between the hours of l0 a.m. and 9 p.m. of
any day, except that Such parking limitation shall not be
operative on any legal holiday other than Saturdays and
except on the east side of said street between ;~ifth Street
and Sixth Street, and except that buses may stop in marked
loading zones to load and unload passengers. Any vehicle
parked in violation of this provision is hereby declared
to be an obstruction to traffic, as defined in Section
585.2 of the California Vehicle Code, and such vehicle shall
be towed away in the manner provided for, md under the pro-
visions of said Vehicle Code."
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
at its regular meeting held on the 16th day of Decembe.r, 1957.
