THEREON PUBLIC ~TILDtNGS, INCLUDING A PUBLIC LIBRARY
AND A POLICE DEPARTMENT BUILDING, AND DECLARING THE
PUBLIC NECESSITY THEREFOR
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana has determined the necessity
for the const~ction of a new Public Library and a new building to
house the Santa Ana Police Department, and the voters of the City
have voted to issue bonds for the construction of said Library
Building, and have voted to transfer $125,000.00, proceeds from the
sale of Santiago Creek Improvement Bonds, approved by the electors
of the City on April 9, 1946 to a fund for the construction of a
building to house the Santa Aha Police Department, both buildings
to be located in an area known as the Civic Center, and
WHEREAS, the City has acquired by negotiation all of the
property on the East side of Patton Street between Eighth and Sixth
Streets, except the two parcels hereinbelow described, for use as a
part of said Civic Center.
NOW, THEHEFORE, BE IT ~SOLVED THAT:
The City Council of the City of Santa Ana does hereby find,
deteEnine and declare that the public interest and necessity require
that the City of Santa Ana do have, acquire and take fee title in
and to that certain real property in the City of Santa Aha, County of
Orange, State of California, described as:
Parcel 1. Lot 8 of the George W. Ford's Addition to Santa
Ana as shown on a Map thereof recorded in Book 25, Page 62,
Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County, California.
Parcel 2. Lot 3~ except the South 3 feet thereo~ and the
South 1.5 feet of Lot 4 of the George W. Ford,s Addition
to Santa Ana as shown on a Map thereof recorded in Book 25,
Page 62, Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County, Cali-
fornia.
Said proposed building locations and the location of said Civic
Center is planned and located in a manner which will be most compat-
ible with the greatest public good and the least private injury.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT: The City Attorney be and he is
hereby ordered to bring an action in the name of the City of Santa
Ana in the Superior Court of the State of California in and for the
County of Orange, in eminent domain to condemn said property necessary
to be taken, as herein ordered and heretofore described, &ud to do
all things necessary to prosecute said action to final determination.
