HomeMy WebLinkAbout58-195RESOLUTION NO. 58-195 APPHOVINC MAP A:D DECLARZN~2~ INTE],~T!ON TO VACATE A PORTION OF NORTH BIRCH STREET LYI~,[G BET%:~N SIXTH STREET AND EIGHTH STREET ~HEREAS, heretofore the Board of Supervisors of Orange County, the City Council of Santa Ana, and the Civic Center Committee agreed upon a pattem for the development of a Civic Center in the City, which involved the closing of Riverine and Birch Streets between Sixth and Eightia Streets, and the County of 0rauge has now officially requested the City of Smta Ann to vacate said portion of l~[orth Birch Street, ~nd ~HEREAS, the Director of Public Works and the Planning Commission of the City have recommended said vacation; hO~, 'ffHEREFORE, ~E IT RESOLVED: 'i~at the L~ap attached hereto marked "Exhibit A" is hereby approved and ordered filed in the office of the Clerk of the Council as a part of this Resolution, and reference is hereby made to said !.,Tap for particulars of said proposed street vacation, and the City Council hereby declares its intention to vacate and close up as apublic street that portion of il'orth Birch Street in the City of Smta Ann, California described as: l~orth Birch Street lying between the ~.~orth line of Sixth Street and the South line of Eighth ~Jtreet. BE IT FURTHER HESOLVED: That the hour of 7':30 p.m. on the 2nd day of Septeraber, 19~8, in the Council Chambers, City ~-[all, 3rd and Nain Streets, in the City of Ssata Ann, California, is hereby fixed as the time md place for hearing all persons interested in or objecting to tne proposed vacation of said portion of North Birch Street$ that the City Council hereby declares its intention to proceed with said vacation under the provisions of the Street Vacation Act of 1941 (Sections 8300 through 8374 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California). The Clerk of the Council is hereby ordered to publish this Resolution in the manner prescribed by law for the publication of Ordinances of the Cit:, and the Director of Public Works is hereby ordered to post, conspicuously along the lines of said Street herein proposed to be vacated, notices stating the passage of this Resolution of Intention, and the time and place of the hearing thereon; such notices shall be posted not more than 300 feet apart and at least three shall be posted along said portion of said street. Said pub- lication and posting shall be completed at least l0 days before the date of said heari~;.
