COPY OF NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CIRCULATE PETITION FOR
ANNEXATION OF '~ITORY DESIGNATED "WEST SANT~ ANA ANNEX~"
THE STATEMENT ACCOMPANYING SUCH NOTICE, AN AFFIDAVIT OF
PUBLICATION THEREOF AND APPROVING THE CIRCULATION OF THE
PETITION ·
WHEREAS~ heretofore there was filed with the City Clerk with the
City of Santa Aha a copy of NOTICE OF IN'~'.~ITION TO CIRCULATE PETITION FOR
ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY ~0 THE CITY OF SANTA ANA~ CALIFORNIA~ accompanied
by a written statement containing reasons for said petition together with an
affidavit of publication of said notice on the 17th day of October, 1958,
in the Santa Aha Register; and
WHEREAS, the Annexation Act of 1913 provides that the Legislative
Body may adopt a resolution acknowledging receipt of said notice, statement
and affidavit and approving the circulation of such petition.
NOW~ THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City
of Santa Ana hereby acknowledges receipt of said notice, statement and
affidavit~ as hereinabove set out~ and that approval be and the same is hereby
given for the circulation of the petition for 8~nexatinn of that certain
territory heretofore known and hereby designated as "West Santa Ana Annex."
The circulation of said petition shall not begin until twenty-one (21) days
after the date of publication of said notice and statement.
That the territory herein designated "West Santa Ana AnneX' lies in
the County of Orange, State of California,~ and is described as:

Beginning at an angle p~int in the city bo-r~ary of the Oity of Santa Ann,
California, said angle point being the intersection of the north line of Seventeenth
Street (80.00 feet wide) and the easterly right of way line of the former Newbert
Protection District Right of Way for the Channel of the Santa Aua River; thence
North 89' 15~ ~O" East along said north line of Seventeenth Street, and along said
city b~undary 5~8.75 feet to a point in the northeasterly extension of the m~numented
center lime of King Street and to an angle point in said city boundary; thence
northeasterly along the westerly boundary of the Rancho Santiago de Santa Ama and
along said city boundary to its intersection with the easterly extension of the
north line of Trask Avenme (40.00 feet wide); thence westerly along said north
line and its easterly extension to the west line of Berrydale Street (6OEO0 feet wide)
an~ to the existing city b~undary of the City of Garden Grove, California; thence
somtherly along said west line of Berrydale to the north line of Tract No. 1369
shown on a map thereof recorded in Book 43, page 17, Miscellaneous Maps, Records
of Orange County, California; thence westerly along the north line of said Tract
No. 1369 to the northwest corner thereof and to said city boundary ef Garden Grove,
California, and to the east Line of the west half (W 1/2) of the southeast quarter
(SE l/t) cf Section 3, Township 5 South, Range l0 ~est, San Bernardino Base and
Meridian; thence southerly along said east line to the northeasterly line of the
Pacific Electric Railway Company right of way ~lO0.OO feet wide); thence northwesterly
along said northeasterly line to the so~th line of the North one-half (N 1/2)~
of the North one-half (N 1/2), Section l0 in said Township 5 South, Range 10 West;
thence easterly along said south line to the west line of the northeast quarter

thence easterly along said north line to its intersection with the northeasterly
prolongation of the westerly line of the Berstein Fifth Street Annex as annexed to
the City of Santa Aha, October l, 1956~ by Ordinance NS-213; thence southwesterly
along said northeasterly prolongation to the northwest corner of said Berstein
Fifth Street Annex and to the center line of said Fifth Street; thence easterly along
the center line of Fifth Street and along said City boundary to the center line
of King Street; thence in a general northerly direction along said city boundary
