HomeMy WebLinkAbout58-313EXFIIBIT I RESOLUTION NO. 5d-313 RESOLUTII ON OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY GF SAMA ANA REQUESTING THE COUMY OF GRANGE TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING PROGRAM THE DEVELOP- MENT OF MCCLAY STREET WHEREAS, the City of Santa :Ana desires to improve McClay Street from Chestnut Avenue to McFadden Street, and WHEREAS, McClay 6treet is an important artery in the County of Orange and of general County interest, and WHEREAS, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Division 2 of the Streets and Highways Code authorizes a County, if it so desires, to expend funds apportioned to it out of the California Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any City in the improve- ment, construction or repair of a street within a City, and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to, by appropriate action, provide in the County budget of the Special Road Improvement Fund for the Fiscal Year 1959-1960, a sum of money for the improvement of streets within the incorporated cities of the County in accordance with the Orange County Arterial Highway Financing Progam. NOW, THEHEFGRE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Cxange to allocate to said City from County Funds the amount of $14,750.00, said amount to be matched by funds from said City, to be used to aid said City in the improvement of McClay Street from Chestnut Avenue to McFadden Street; said improvements to be in accordance with the attached project statement: BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Grange is hereby requested to find that said work on McClay Street, in the manner provided, is in the general County interest. BE IT FURTHER RESGLVED that, by this Resolution, the City of Santa Ana agrees with the basic concepts of the Arterial Highways Financing Program; and further agrees that its share of the cost of improvements and rights of way will be available for the fiscal year 1959-1960.
